Great room, clean, comfortable and staff exceedingly helpful in every way. When my luggage transfer did not arrive, they assisted in tracking it down for me. Any time I approached the front desk they were friendly and efficient at the same time. I was particularly impressed with the young woman serving breakfast. There was nothing she would not do to provide a great guest experience.
A family run hotel (like many in the area), with the younger generation able to speak very good English and were very friendly helpful and welcoming. The room ( number 14) was very pretty, spacious and comfortable and quiet despite overlooking the main road. It did not face towards the railway which runs through the centre of every town along this section of the Rhine The hotel had a charming small terrace, looking over the local church (a destination for many pilgrims). The menu offered typical options (escalopes etc) but the food was excellent and reasonable good value for money.
we booked specifically requesting a quiet room and on arrival were given a room next the railway line and told take it or leave it.Trains ran all night so earplugs are essential. We had no hot water and this was fixed the next day ( they gave us a 10 euro reduction for this!!!).The tv is only in german. The whole place was shut by 10pm even though it was high season. No member of staff ever seems to smile.Breakfast was goos although nothing cooked .We ate on the first night and food was ok but no more ( and we were made to pay and told we couldnt add it to our room bill.Over all a very disappointing experience.
Unfortunately we didn't get rooms in this hotel, but we came here for dinner. Apart from the pleasant indoors area, the restaurant has a large terrace on the first floor and a pleasant inner courtyard. The food is refined traditional German cuisine and a few innovative dishes. And the chef does a very good job. Service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed a very nice evening here.
