Charming old place with a nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. We had room 102 and could see the river from our room. We stayed just one night during our week-long hike along the Rhine – when we arrived our baggage was already in our room. As I said, it's an old place but it has character. The steps up to the next floor are in a tower which gives you a feeling of being in an old castle. The bathroom was very small and the shower somewhat hidden behind the corner in the bathroom. But it was fine for us, being small people. Breakfast was nice. In summary, a nice place with character.

Very nice hotel which breathes the authentic atmosphere of the area. Very friendley owners. They took our lugage to the room which was very welcome after a 24km hike thar they upon our arival. The kitchen has local dishes and are very good too. The terrace is covered, so ideal for dining or having a drink when the teperature is still fine. Definitly will come back the next time we are visiting the surroundings of Koblenz and the river Rhine.

The room I and my cousin received was small with a tiny bathroom. No AC a tiny piece of soap and one small shampoo packet. The bedsheet are very coarse making sleep uncomfortable. If you ever stayed in Motel 6 in US this is the German equivalent albeit run by a nice and friendly family. On the positive side the location is excellent right on the river and near tourist office and the restaurant with outdoor seating served above average German food at reasonable prices

This hotel is in a good location: close to the river, close to restaurants, and close to other attractions. We stayed in their annex facility which is close to the train line (which at times was somewhat loud). Our room was adequate--perhaps a bit small. Although the bathroom was good sized. However, we found the beds uncomfortable. On the plus side--the staff were very nice and eager to please. The other reviews regarding this hotel--I think suffer from a bit of TripAdvisoritis (the trend to rate everything a 4 or a 5). There's nothing wrong with this hotel--I just don't think it rises to a level 5 rating. They also cater to large groups.

Stayed at the Hotel Rheingraf in August 2013 with Newmarket Holidays. This family run hotel was probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in to date. The service and the accomodation was first class. Our room was very comfortable, perfect size for a few nights stay, the continental breakfast is served in the breakfast room, the tables covered in crisp white tablecloths. Again the best breakfast thus far, usual fayre but ultra fresh, plentiful & very tasty. Would recommend this hotel to anybody.

I stayed at the Rheingraf hotel for four days in August 2013 to see the Rhein in Flames. What a beautiful hotel and a lovely family. It is a family run hotel and their warm welcoming hospitality is a credit to the Rhine Valley. The hotel is a 16th century building with a castle like spiral staircase giving access to all 3 floors. The rooms are different in size (as you would expect in this age building) but all rooms are very comfortable, well decorated and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is tiled to perfection, both floors and walls and spotlessly clean. All windows are double glazed and look new. The bar is small but their terrace drinking area is spacious well covered and well decorated with grape vines running over the ceiling. As you sip your drinks you look right at the Rhine river. you can get coffees here throughout the day and pass away your time watching the river. Breakfast is excellent, German style, with meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs (real eggs) bread and fresh warm rolls, not forgetting cereals juices tea and coffee. Breakfast is served in a breakfast room traditionally decorated and again spotlessly clean. They do not have a restaurant for dinner but do not let that put you off within 20 paces either to the rear of the hotel or to the left you ave two very good restaurants. my colleagues and me ate at the restaurant behind the hotel (sorry I can not recall the name but my thanks to Jimmy who looked after us so well when we were there) other travelers ate at other restaurants around and no one had one single complaint about any of them. Kamp Bornhofen is a small town with everything you need from narrow streets, restaurants, takeaways, small independent shops bank and cash machine, all of which are just a few minutes from the Rheingraf Hotel. You are 25 minutes (driving) from Koblenz, 50 minutes from Rudesheim, an hour from Cocham and 20 minutes from St Goar ferry taking you across to Boppard, It is a great location to have as a base. There is no lift/elevator in the hotel however if you are unable to manage the 20 steps up the beautiful spiral staircase to the first floor worry not, they have a second building not 50 meters away with ground floor rooms. Worry not about your baggage getting to your room. I have in all my career as a tour manager never seen bags go to a room so fast. The had 50 cases taken to the rooms in around 10 minutes. Thanks to the three to four local schoolboys that came in to help when our coach arrived (the boys do it for their pocket money ) and when we left they had all the bags down the stairs and at the coach in minutes. Coach groups please tip these young men one or two euros for their effort. they did work very hard, is was a pleasure to see that ethos. My heart and thanks goes out to Axel, Kattin and Axel's mother Annette Dahlem for their warm welcoming service. Thank you far a wonderful stay... your hotel is beautiful. One final thing Axel and Kattin's English is very good so there is no language barrier. On your trip to the Rhine it would be a pitty to miss such a hotel.
