A day visit to Il Fontanaro is a unique experience and one we will never forget. We booked the tour thru Walks of Italy. It is titled "Cooking Classes in Tuscany with Farmhouse Experience." Walks of Italy meets you are the train station in Rome and sends you on a 90 min trip to Paciano where you are met by...

This is a superb getaway hosted by a family with deep roots in Umbria and more. The accommodations are great with kitchens stocked with food, nice fireplaces, Internet and if you want cable TV. But .... it's Mama Lucia , daughter Alina and the staff that make your stay wonderful. Alina and Lucia know everyone and every place in Umbria...

Our stay with another couple at Sagrantino couldn't have been better. The 2 bedroom/2 bath rental was well cared for and spotlessly clean. Everything had been considered from a few basic groceries at our arrival to help with planning our daily itinerary. The outdoor space had breath taking views and we enjoyed the pool. The villa is within walking distance...

There were 8 of us - we stayed in Fonte Cicerum which is a beautifully equipped "villa" (house) about 10 minute walk to the main house (Il Fontanaro). Early October, the pool was pretty chilly!! The remarkable thing about this setup is that you have perfect freedom to do whatever you want during the day, but if you have any...

My husband and I have a apartment in Paciano and visited Italy with our family this October. They stayed at the Villa Sangrantino. Their accommodations were absolutely beautiful. Alina and Lucia were so kind and thoughtful to our family which made our trip memorable. The views were spectacular!

Frantoia, the one bedroom apartment we stayed at on Fontanaro Farm was idyllic. Fantastic views of the Italian countryside around the beautiful town of Paciano. Very well outfitted. Excellent salt water pool. Really enjoyed the cooking class and meeting all the other attendees. Loved the tour of the olive groves. Lucia and Alina and Giovanni are just wonderful warm and...

We enjoyed four days in the Tignanello villa (we'll stay longer next time). We had a private patio with hammock, overlooking the countryside and surrounded by fields of sunflowers. We could view Paciano, a nearby hillside town, through our bedroom window. We comfortably took day trips to Montalcino, Pienza, and Siena, and still had time to relax and enjoy the...

Had an amazing honeymoon, or mini-moon rather, after our wedding in Perugia. Alina and her family (partner, mother and brother) were all amazing hosts. The pictures of the house don't do it justice. This will have to be experienced! I cannot find a single fault here. Will definitely be coming back here again. Thank you so much for 3 lovely...

My family and I stayed in villa Brunello for a week in August and it was an amazing experience! The villa itself is gorgeous, comfortable, spacious, with every possible convenience. The infinity pool overlooking the Umbrian countryside was enjoyed by kids and grownups alike. The owner Alina and her family made us feel like old friends and saw to our...

We had such a lovely time staying in Paciano at Il Fontanaro. The Ornellaia villa was beautiful, looking out on sunflower fields, beautifully kept grounds, and the hillside of Paciano. We stayed with a group of 6 and had ample space to relax, play, and rest. The philosophy of Il Fontanaro is to invite travelers into the slow-living of the...

“It would be worth your while to stay for at least 5 days or more to truly enjoy the flavor of the countryside and Italian culture, Don't forget to stop at Michael's for coffee and luscious desserts in Castiaglione del Lago. Their C filled with Chantilly Cream is the best! Don't forget to stop at Michael's in Castiglione Del Lago for coffee and luscious pastries. They make the best Sfogliatelle filled with Chantilly Cream in all of Italy. Try to stay at least 5 -7 days to truly enjoy the local flavor and culture of Tuscany/Umbria regions.”
