My father and I have talked for several years about exploring Asturias and Salas, in particular, to learn about the history of our family. Staying in this 14th century building added to the overall experience. The room was very nice, and the courtyards (inside and out) fragrant with roses and hydrangeas. Thank you to the staff for taking good care of us and making our stay special. The Museo Valdes Salas, which is attached to the hotel, is well worth a visit. Salas’ influence through the millennia is clearly important to the history of the region and to Spain. Bravo to the owners for preserving both castle, tower and museum!

I am walking the Camino Primitivo (3rd time) and back in 2016 had the Pilgrim meal, which I recall was pretty good. Fast forward to 2019... Good Friday. No menu provided even though a 3 three course option was posted at the door. Unfortunately I was not offerred any choices and what was put in front of me was what I had to eat. The red wine was acidic and cheap. I could only take 3 sips and could not finish my glass. First course was a bowl of peas... are you kidding me? Second course was 2 small slicea of pork with a few french fries with peppers . And finally 2 small pieces of ice cream. Again no choices offered, I had to eat what I was given (mystery meal). Even at 10 euro it was a rip off. Warning to future pilgrims to give this one a pass!

Buen Camino peregrino.

Excellent location. Beautiful setting. I felt I was back in time in an old castle with a great patio in the centre. The hostess was efficient and lovely and caring. The room clean and comfortable. The breakfast and evening meal prepared with pride love and care. I was very happy to have discovered this lovely place.

This centrally located hotel drips with old world charm and character. The rooms look out on an inner courtyard filled with art and the breakfast room/bar is cozy and inviting. My room was small, but spotless and had all that I needed on my Camino Primitivo trek.

The hotel itself has great character with lovely small inner courtyard, the bed room was large with a good shower. The restaurant served good food, particularly breakfast... what more could you ask for when walking the Camino
