We had a few days of work in San Jose and decided about a week in advance to add on a visit to the Marina Ballena area. I have a prejudice here: I proposed to my amiga (she said yes) on the deck of Bungalow...More

Very nice, clean. Excellently managed! Owners are caring about guests (e.g. counting returning cars at night, asking actively about feedback). Good tips for excursions. Centrally located to visit southern and mid Pacific. Would return and can strongly recommend the place!!!

We originally booked the Mar Y Selva for 4 nights. Not quite sure what an Ecolodge was about, I assumed it was a rustic environment without amenities such as televisions and air conditioning. I got cold feet and decided to book the hotel for only...More

It is between 3.5-4 hours from San Jose to the lodge. All of the bungalows are in great condition. Whatever you read was not recent. The staff and lodge are both amazing. Hope this helps.

Its a drive, I believe it was about 3 hours. But its a beautiful drive along the coast. Lots of beautiful places to stop at. I don't know anything about bungalow 9. But our room was great.
