Location Set in the desert just outside the national park of Isalo, and the village of Ranohira, this hotel shares a large area of land with the sister hotel Relais de la Reine (also reviewed). This includes two walking trails, horse stables and paddock, bungalows for staff and a farm for fruits and veg. Note that the location means that...

Spectacular design of a new hotel in a beautiful location. Spectacular designer buildings. Excellent food and a really great breakfast with good strong coffee. Our room was huge with a great bathroom. There is AC but they switched the AC off overnight but did not tell us that was going to happen. There are no screens on the windows or...

This is the nicest lodge/hotel that we stayed at during our 2-week stay in Madagascar. Meals were delicious. There is even a swimming pool. Beds have mosquito nets and there are ductless A/C units in each room. But, they shut off their generator from 11 PM until some time in the AM. Then, they shut it off again some time...

We traveled 4 1/2 hours on terrible roads to see the National Park. When we arrived at the hotel we could not believe what we're seeing. A magnificent property in the middle of no where. The rooms are big and beautiful. The restaurant serves excellent food for all meals. The staff is suburb. One suggestion for those that can afford...

This was our favorite accommodation in Madagascar. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. Each room had a patio or balcony with table and chairs. Scenery is spectacular. Food was generally very good to excellent. The one negative was the quality of service in general was inconsistent. There was a good size pool and and the massage provided at the sister...

My wife and I stayed for two nights in a very spacious, clean and well-designed room. The property is large but manageable and set amongst the picturesque rock formations. The architecture of the buildings is modern and attractive. The rooms centered around a vast green space offer privacy and views to the rocks. The bed was large and extremely comfortable....

Isalo has stunning rock formations, and this hotel fits right in--literally. This hotel, made of stone itself, is set among huge boulders, beautiful rocks and rich, green lawns. The rooms are spacious with beautiful wood floors and stone walls and the bathrooms are well-appointed. Meals in the dining room are very good. Best hotel we stayed in in Madagascar!

We stayed here whilst on a business trip for 8 nights. Beautiful setting in Isalo with large comfortable rooms. But, the service was terrible. Wifi limited and only available in the reception area, which is very far from the rooms themselves. English very limited, so expect food orders etc to be wrong.. They do not have a bureau du change...

Hidden from the road, what a wonderful surprise it is to see Le Jardin du Roy in all its beauty. Gorgeous architecture nestled into the surrounding countryside. So much thought and care must have gone into the design and construction. Our chalet was lovely, clean and very spacious. My only regret was that our stay was only for two nights.
