We stopped on Saturday of the Bank Holiday for a meal with friends for a Saturday night it wasn't very busy buy at least we could get a table. We did not like the service because the room should have been restored as there the carpet was thorn out. The food was pricey and not as good as it would be expected and the directions were not the best.

We booked to go to the Sportsman for an Easter break, having read all the very negative comments decided that we would keep an open mind. Friendly staff .Clean bedding, room was poor only two light bulbs worked so very dim.not enough sockets to dry hair in front of mirrors.Bathroom shower appalling .No holder for shower so had to wash with one hand whilst holding shower head!!!.complained to manager he was not interested and blamed it on the brewey.No discount offered felt totally ripped off.Towel holder...

We booked a 2 night stay with a groupon and were looking forward to a special weekend walking, relaxing and enjoying nice food-thankfully the walking was great and we found a decent hotel in town to eat in on Saturday nigh otherwise the weekend would have been a disaster!! Terrible cold out of date wouldn't let a dog sleep on the beds, out of date furniture and very cold asked for more bedding was told not got any and heating would be on all night not true it was freezing. Manager thought it was funny when we complained about the rooms .we only stayed one night instead off two...

We has a voucher to stay 2 nights. we had a nice meal the first night . My meal was cold so I had to send it back but was nice when warm. The bedroom however was awful. Threadbare carpet. 1950's tatty furnitue' mould in the shower tray,rusty shower and a rather warn toilet seat = gross..... hence to say...
