This hotel has so much potential but its run down & not well managed. The people working here are nice though. I hope they can refurbish & do something about their tv channels (not really viewable). Foods are not bad. Please remove all the crack plates, it looks sad

Seri Malaysia (government incentive) hotels is a franchise of affordable family hotel that gives value of money. The one in Ayer Keroh Melaka is meant for the touristy Ayer Keroh area with surrounding tourist attractions. Now that Ayer Keroh’s novelty is lacking from its heydays (its been 3 decades), the area lacks visitors. Seri Malaysia could do with a complete makeover as it is well located and has large grounds and good traditional architecture. But here lies the dilemma, franchisee cannot afford the huge refurb cost so it remains as it is. Some rooms have been refurbished with carpet and drapes changed but the old fixtures are still there that takes back to its glory 30 years back. Common (not in room) ironing facilities and self service laundry machines. Service is lacklustre (the staff do try to do their best, mind you) maybe due to low morale because of sparse occupants. Food is so so. With tourism struggling, there are many hotels that offer low rates to survive. It is the buyers market. Seri Malaysia may not be able to offer any lower rates but they can attract with better quality service and restaurant, perhaps with bundled tourist products and meeting package.

What started in the late 90’s as a good value affordable hotel for the average citizen has somehow not gained traction and continues to deteriorate as facilities upkeep becomes a surmounting challenge. Heres the poser: with other new hotels built, prices have to be competitive to get occupancy yet the income is barely enough for refurbishment. So they continue operating with minimal upkeep of ageing installations just to barely keep going. How to improve? Everything has passed its prime and has seen better days. The tired furniture, the noisy and mouldy aircond, the cafe with limited menu. The only thing they can do is to keep the place clean and replace when it becomes unbearable. Friendly and helpful staff though (pity they have to take the brunt of dissatisfied guests on behalf of puzzled management that cant get the message across to the HQ). The place is close to attractions in Ayer Keroh but journey to Melaka city centre easily takes 20 minutes. I wish the franchise well in waiting for the white knight.

Room is big . But self laundry is under maintenance forever. Hotel also not provide laundry service . The hotel is isolated from city by high way so it is best you have own transportation . Morning very hard to get grab or uber service unless taxi which will double price. Activities inside hotel is limited . Either you hide in room watch TV or swimming at pool. This hotel near mitc zone and zoo melaka . It took 15min minimum to reach city area. Or jonker walk Street. The air conditioner is centralised and believe not clean as my nose is icthy whole night and I cannot sleep.the breakfast buffet is served in Malay cusine . Toast bread . And salad . Less then ten choise. Be careful with furniture as is aged I experienced sit a wood chair and soon after it break off.

area were very dark. Probably to save on the electric, garden & surroundings are very dark makes you feel spooky. Room: housekeeping very poor, mug & spoon very dirty, bedsheet not clean, stain on bed sheet & the bedsheet small, half of the mattress only been covered, carpets dusty, they did not vacuum the carpet. Aircond making loud noise. Tv, 2-3 channels only & most astro channels cant watch. Toilet: so & so. Not comfortable with toilet flush, need to flush twice otherwise residue left behind. Shower water pressure low. Breakfast: verry verry poor. Not tasty at all. Suprisingly coffee cup at cafe also not very clean, still got some dirt at the cup. Carpark: very dark. No proper parking lane. BIG NO for this hotel.

- Approx. 2mins driving from the Ayer Keroh toll. - Approx. 10mins driving from MITC - Approx. 30mins driving from Bandar Melaka. - Room is generally okay but the air conditioning system for my room was poor. - Really basic room amenities. - Sleeping quality - not satisfying to me during my stay. - Room is spacious, can fit approx 4 adults and 2 kids. - Food is generally good. - Staff are well mannered. - They cleaned my car windscreen before I checked out. Not sure if they will do it on daily basis if you stay there longer. A plus point for them *thumbs up* - This hotel is good for family with kids. Overall: Okay.

Bedsheets and pillows had some kind of stale/musty smell. Spritzed my own perfume to mask the smell. Carpet and drapes felt dusty to touch. Black ants trailing on furniture and walls. Sink had signs of food stains from last guest using the room. Ceiling had unsightly traces of past leakage and not repainted. Can hear person in adjacent room talking, had to switch up the tv volume to mask the noise. Both pools were only meant for children. No lift to upper floors. Corridors not that clean. Cutleries and cockeries had stains. Loved the greenery, though. Overall need to allocate more budget to the hotel management so that they can maintain the property properly. Will only come back again if there's a great discount on the room rates.
