Amverton hotel has clean, spacious and I think recently refurbished rooms. The room had a good split unit air conditioning unit which is important for sweltering melaka, didn't experience much of the service but the little we did was commensurate with the price we paid. Cant expect 5 star service if you don't pay 5 star prices.

The telematch organized by hotel was good, the team which ran it led by Capt (rtd) Norizan was excellent.

The only negatives were:

1. Phone wasn't connected when we checked in, so had to call hotel using my mobile to get a change of pillow case.

2. The pillow cases were not changed, one was dirty and the other smelly.

But it would be a good place to bring the kids as the pool is big and it has some slides.

3 stars because of standard of facilities and rooms are of 3 star hotel, no complaints about service from staff.

The room is quite basic though it is clean. No iron and iron board provided in the room.

Not much variety of foods for breakfast. Replenishment of foods was really slow. The landscape and water park of this hotel is good but the poor service is a big let down.

I stayed here because of attending a conference otherwise I would not want to stay here as it is not worth the money.

We stayed during a non-school holiday period, on a weekday. Upon arriving at around 3pm the carpark was deserted and it appeared as we were the only guest there.
Check in was a breeze as we booked earlier. Once you get in the lift, the age of the hotel showed itself. The lift was stuffy and the carpet in the lift and hallway was very old.
The room itself was clean, but old. The carpet had stains. The sheets had stains though clean. Everything was functioning in a non-professional way. The AC on off switch had the label 'NIGHT' on it. We thought the AC was not working and had to call maintenance which showed us the 'NIGHT' switch is actually the AC switch!
A few of the facilities in the hotel were not well kept. The pool table was damaged. The children's playground unkempt. There was a kid's zone which looked interesting but it was closed with a chain metal on the door.
The breakfast 'buffet' was a first for me. We were told upon entering the cafe it was an american breakfast that would be served. Could not complain as we were the only one in the cafe having breakfast.
The hotel is tucked away from the main road so unless you were looking for it one could easily miss the sign.

We checked in late at midnight as we were en route from Johore to Kl. When we arrived there was nobody at the reception and no bellboy to assist us with our luggage. Room bedsheet has stains & toilet smells bad. Staff is no where helpful at all! We requested half hour late checkout as we arrived late at 1am but staff harassing us to clear the room asap! No consideration at all as we we’re travelling with an injured person! Will never come back here again!

I booked from website. In the website swimming pool, indoor playground looks fun and clean. Nice for my son to enjoy.
But once we went there regretted. Pool was dirty and many people swimming with clothes. The biggest surprise was one of the man used his hand to eat his take away curry rice. Once finished walk to the pool and wash his hands.
I felt like came to river to swim. The room was not hygienic enough. Bathtub, curtain are so dirty. The staff was not so friendly. I don’t think coming back again. So disappointed and regretted.

My husband & I, plus our 18 months old baby checked in on 27 March 2014. We were given a room facing the pool & forest. Our room was so far away from the lift. The condition of the room & bathroom were worn out. We were so disappointed because the room was not worth of the price we paid.

At night while I was nursing my baby, he suddenly got up & pointing to the vanity table then cried like he saw 'something' scary! I tried to calm him down but he cried much louder & he looked scared. Even my husband & I felt like there were 'something' in the room. Straight away we decided to check out that night itself. This incident occurred at 12am.

The guy at reception suggested we move to another room & we did but the same thing happened. My baby cried & pulled my hand away from the room.

Later we found out from the reception guy that, not only us have gone through this experience at the hotel.

By any ways, we still wanted to check out because there must be something scary about the hotel & so we finally left the hotel feeling disappointed.

We never have any bad experience with other hotels that we stayed before. We are not going to stay here again!

To those who have babies & toddlers, please don't stay here if you don't want them to be disturbed by 'ghosts'. I'm giving this review because I don't want them to experience the same thing that me & my family went through. Imagine that we have to check out at 12.30am with a baby because of this unwanted incident.

To the hotel management, please do something about this. Thank you.

I am very upset about this hotel because it spoilt my holiday.

My family and I travelled all the way from Penang to Air Keroh in the hope to relax and enjoy ourselves in the hotel. However we were very dissappointed.

First the room was big but dirty. The balcony was not accessable because of birds stools everywhere. The side tables were not clean and sticky. The sink was blocked with water. The hanger for the towels was out of place. The air conditional was too cold and we couldn't control it at our room.

About the swimming pool. No pool towels were provided. We were asked to bring our rooms towels to the pool. The shower at the pool was not working. The ladies toilet at the pool was so dirty that my children and I were almost vomitted.

At the breakfast. The waiters and waitress gathered at a table to talk. When somebodies left their tables, the waiters would just went over and cleared the plates and cups, pushed all other things on the table to the floor. So the tables were not rubbed clean and tissues and foods were on the floor. Foods served were of junk grade. Imagine we were served salted fish and ikan billis (small tiny fish) that were not clean (still with their stomach inside). I still feel very uncomfortable with the breakfast I eat there. Also I couldn't even find drinking water, salt and pepper around.

Hope the management know these and will make improvement.

Nearing the end of the school holidays, we decided on a “last leg” family break hoping for a restful retreat far from the ‘hustle-bustle’ holiday crowds. This is no easy feat considering Malacca’s year-round tourist crowds. Still, I looked up fair accommodation where my parents, 8-year son and teenage niece would enjoy getting close to nature, strengthening their bonds, having a lovely time and still indulge in the state’s lavish historical heritage.

I was delighted to come across Amverton Heritage Resort. It had an extraordinarily tantalizing “off grid” feel with a happily affordable tag so after a quick call and chat with Ms. Lilian (Gen. Manager), I was convinced. She was courteous, well-spoken and responded to my queries with cheerful patience.

The Resort’s location at the gateway to Malacca made it surprisingly easy to reach. The drive into its main entrance lobby was accompanied with lovely, lush greens on both sides. The weather was perfect when we arrived- soft, cool, breezes that led us to ‘dance with the drizzle.’

Exquisitely tucked within a haven of lush greens, lakes and hills, we took in the picturesque sights that bordered the magical forest as we explored the Lobby. We were all thrilled with our first impressions of this ‘palace’ resort. Clean, charming and chic, I was immediately charmed with its bright, breezy ambience enhanced with décor reminisce of old Baba-Nyonya days. Lovebirds and couples would throng here if only they knew of all these alluringly authentic photo-shoot setting to bring out their unique take of true love... gosh, this place brims with beauty and romance!

When I brought my parents to their Deluxe room, we were glad to see that it was more than decent- everything a pretty good hotel room affords plus a view of the forest and a door adjoining their room to ours, a junior Suite, which surpassed all out expectations (see our photos). We would have appreciated some tidbits and snacks but there was room service, and both rooms were very well-kept, spacious and came with the free Wi fi, TV, mini-fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, and so on.

We went down after a quick shower and were very blessed to have befriended Captain Noorizan (AMN, PJK), internationally renowned, local legend for his awesome Skydiving and BASE jumping feats worldwide. It was a real treat to meet him and more than words can express to have our local legend bring us on an amazing tour of the resort, adding thrill to every detail that we soaked up with growing fascination! As we strolled the tranquil gardens, I could not help but savor the fragrance of rose-petal lakes and walkways sprinkled with simply the prettiest nature spots for outdoor photography. These are breathtaking backdrops sparkling with fresh dewdrops and aglow with the most enchanting fairy tale romances.

I am gratified to share that the kids took to the waterpark in a way that made it near heartbreaking to tell them it was time to leave. The place is simply deluged with recreation for kids (of all ages) and our 2 days of divine diversions were not enough to try them all out!! There were playrooms, sandpits, ATV rides, paintball, jungle treks and gyms, pool tables and foosball… we’ll definitely be back to try them all, except the kids truly can’t get enough of the slides, Gangslide and Double P rides.

While I realized that the facilities could be improved for disabled and elderly persons, (perhaps buggy rides to tour the facility and a massage spa), it was a joy to see my parents’ cheeks redden with youthful blush as they took in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy songs of nature as they read the papers under natural lighting at the courtyard and balcony, sipping their tea and coffee.

Other than this, in terms of facilities, every detail is praise-worthy! The staff (Thank you so much, Pn. Badariah and everyone at the Front Desk) were exceptionally courteous, helpful and efficient, going out of their way to ensure the comfort of guests throughout our stay! We requested for additional beds in our rooms when my niece and sister joined us and they arrived in almost no time to set up the clean beds and left with a smile, all-round.

We were glad to celebrate Buka Puasa with Capt. Noorizan later in the evening, over the Resort’s Buffet dinner at the Dayang Coffee House. Yes, this is what good food and great company is made of. Being “Nyonya girl” of Penang island descent, I fall neatly into the category of a self-proclaimed Nyonya food critic (as all in our family) but I’ve long learned to hold back on expectations especially when it came to acclaimed, finer restaurants, so I was genuinely surprised to see how well some of their selections catered for our taste-buds. Alex (F&B Manager), a gracious Portugese gentleman came by to offer us glasses of cold and warm water in case our drinks were too sweet, and pointed us to the desserts neatly arranged in a “sampan” at the second level (see photos).

As the drizzle grew into a soft sheen of rain, we had to decline the Capt’s big-hearted (We fell in love with this guy) offer to take us on the fabled “Night Jungle Trek” but it was still an irresistibly rare attraction we must return to experience! If you’re ahead of us, remember to be ready with jeans and a jacket, perhaps a torch and mossie repellant- and let us know how it went for you!

After a simple breakfast the next day, we went fishing (MUST GO with the Captain and his mates- all fine examples of true Malaysian gentlemen, including Jimmy, Daud, and Hafiz), had a few rounds of ATV with the kids and of course, my favorite: The lavish pool by the freshwater lake that rippled rainbows across its waters… as reflections of the vast skies and its greeted whenever I took a lovely, warm dip (yes, the water is exquisitely warm and inviting from morning sun’s rays). The kids especially enjoyed the rides and pool time with a magical dolphin that Jimmy introduced the kids to.

During our spellbinding stay, we also saw that our pristine ‘palace’ would be make a supremely marvelous retreat for banquets and meetings, and company teambuilding escapades- the place is luxuriously spacious to suit everyone at once without compromising the comforts of privacy and privileges for anyone. A truly nice haven and just minutes away from attractions like the crocodile farm, recreation forest, and butterfly park.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we thought it’d be a wonderful idea to have lunch in town, but it turned out to be a terrible idea- Malacca’s narrow roadways and traffic, particularly on steaming, humid days. Despite expectations that it’d be quieter during Ramadhan month, every corner seemed to be crammed full of tourists and while it was nice to know the city is thriving, the lack of leeway for parking spots were still a put off. We really should have prolonged our stay at Amverton Heritage Resort, now our all-time favorite “Palace in the heart of Nature’s Park.” If you’re off to Malacca, all I can think of to say to you is, “Must-go, must-go, and must-go again!”

It is definitely not a place to do meeting and event here. The banquet staff and even the manager ALEX is not polite, do not treat us as a customer. When request on the amendment of function room setting, he keep on focus on the problem. And at a ad hoc we request chairs for taking big group photo with the big boss of our company, ALEX even come over and question us "Why din tell us earlier?"

Same goes to the sales person MAZIA. When the end of event of Day 1, we request her to send banquet staff to tidy up the function room (water bottle etc.), she questionned us back "Are you throw the rubbish all around?"

As a event organiser, please expect the collaboration from hotel support is minimum.

DO NOT COME HERE AGAIN !!!
