Perfectly good hotel on the bank of the river and directly on the Camino de Santiago. Rooms are standard size and (it's February) have good heating and copious hot water. The two reception staff - cousins I believe - have been very helpful. Firstly with a taxi booking and then with an impromptu local history lesson. Really appreciated. Good value.

Casa Mendez is not a traditional looking hotel but it was better looking inside. My room was big enough that I wasn't falling over my suitcase. My room had wooden shutters with a partial view over the river & bridge. The bed had a white counter pane over a sheet & a bolster pillow, which was quite comfortable. The bathroom...

Room was hot and stuffy no fan or air conditioning. If you tried to ope the windows and were in bed you would bang your head in the Windows . We were going to eat in their restaurant that night however when we tried to order a drink in the afternoon testing our Spanish the hostess was very rude and...

I have stayed at this hotel three times already with my family (2 adults and three kids). We stay there as it breaks the journey for us when we go north to Galicia. The rooms are amble and always clean with all the necessities you will need after a long drive or walk. The price / quality of the place...

While walking on the Camino de Santiago we chose to stay here for closeness to the track and the Dragonte route my husband was taking. It was to be an early start in the morning and the manager made up a good sized breakfast tray for us, including thermos of coffee. The rooms were small however windows opened to the...

We reached Casa Mendez on the very last day of our Camino for this year and were booked in for two nights. Our room was so comfortable, spotlessly clean with a little balcony. The staff were welcoming and very attentive and the food tasty and so reasonably priced. Our decision to have a rest day there post our walking was...

Some rooms overlooking river and although mine on road still had a quiet night. Bust restaurant - we were here on a Sunday - and good food. We enjoyed paella and garlic trout with mash potatoes. A really nice Camino stop. The wine here is very good too - can you get it in UK?

We stayed here on Camino, June 2015. Great hotel, simple but v comfortable, but best of all were friendly staff, most notably Pablo and Ricardo from Buenos Aires, who spent ages helping us with bus booking, water bladder filling, printing tickets and moral support! Friendly service by lady at breakfast too. Bizcocho, toast, fresh orange and coffee was as good...

Family run and friendly, well located in an old village surrounded by vineyards, wineries, nature trails and lots of history. Basic home made food at the restaurant. Nice room with nice view and quiet enough.

This is a comfortable and clean hotel a bit away from the "action" of the town. HOWEVER in the AM when you leave for Camino you are as far as you can be on your way!! The hotel sits at the confluence of two rivers and its restaurant overlooks one of them. We opted to go back to town to...
