We stayed at the Holiday Inn Campo Express de Gibraltar--Barrios prior to making a trip to Gibraltar. Note that this hotel is on the Spanish side approximately 15 miles away in an industrial center in Los Barrios. Note that it takes approximately 15-20 minutes to drive to the Spain-Gibraltar border. Our suggestion is to park on the Spanish side and walk over for a day trip.
The rooms were as one would expect from Holiday Inn Express. They were clean and more spacious than some of the other hotels that were staying in the center of town during our trip. The stay includes a continental breakfast, which was a nice way to start the day. Also, there is free parking.
I would recommend this place if you already have a car and were planning to take a day trip to Gibraltar or to Tangier. It is a convenient place between the two, although there is not much to see around the immediate area in Los Barrios.

We stayed for one night before attending a wedding on the Rock. Access from the nearby motorway was excellent and less than a minute. Check in was friendly and quick, parking was free. The room was typical of the chain, a good size, clean, comfortable with a great en suite. It’s on a commercial park so don’t expect excellent views, nearby bars or restaurants. There is a shopping centre and cinema within 2 mins walk which had numerous fast food outlets, an Asian cuisine restaurant and an Italian. There is a very large Carrefour about a minutes drive away. Interestingly in the foyer of the hotel is a an ice machine, buckets provided by reception. The included breakfast is continental of course but certainly lacked any appeal for me and I stuck to coffee. Our friends dined in the hotel the night before we arrived and said the food was very good and reasonably priced. This is a budget no frills hotel which provides and delivers exactly what you expect.

Easy access off main highway near shopping markets. Rooms basic but nice. Breakfast nothing special but staff very nice. Parking is free. This was great place to stay when we went to gibraltor. Rooms were very Inexpensive and easy access to main highway 15 min from gibraltor. Fyi Depending when you go the border crossongs can take 2 hrs so that is why most drop car in carpark and walk across to gibraltor to take tour

We came to the area to see Gibraltar but didn't want to stay on Gibraltar itself as we find the hotels are not always good value for the price. This hotel was only a short distance by car and very easy to find. The whole hotel was modern, extremely clean and well maintained. We even had tea/coffee making facilities in our room which is unusual in Spain. The breakfast was eat as much as you wanted buffet style and had everything you would need to set you up for a days sightseeing/shopping. Our room was quiet with a comfortable bed, soft or firm pillows and complimentary toiletries in the modern bathroom. The whole floor was designated no smoking. We had 1 hours free wi fi per day in the hotel lounge area which was sufficient for us. On arrival the staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. We would like to congratulate the manager and all his staff on the best hotel we have stayed in for a long while. It is such good value for money and we will be recommending it to all our friends/family and will be going back for sure on our next trip to Gibraltar.
