Tourist Season in Norway opens in May. I have booked the Glacier walk at the Nigarsbreen. The closest place to stay is in Gjerde and found this hotel. Due to the traffic condition, we arrived late at 9pm. But the sun still not set at this time. We called this hotel and order dinner for us. Hotel lady said no...

The Hotel also has a small restaurant and following a recommendation of our guide we went there after a glacier hike and we really had the best burgers ever. We even came back the day after that to eat there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully located but quite basic hotel. The service was great and all of the team were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was enormous and comfortably fitted out but quite rudimentary in style. Breakfast was really great and the dinner menu although quite limited offers good quality, comfort food which was really well...

I can't say enough positive things about the Jostedal Hotel and its staff. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. The food was simple yet delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For anyone planning a trip to Norway, I would recommend spending 3 days exploring the area and staying at Josetdal.

Like most of the other folks who have reviewed, I spend the entire day kayaking/hiking to the glacier. I did it with Ice Trolls (so very good). Luckily I was smart and booked this hotel to rest up after the long day. The woman who runs the hotel is very sweet, very friendly and nice. We were starving and tired...

My family (me, husband, 6 year old) stayed here after hiking the nearby glacier (it's about 5 minutes away) and loved it. The actual hotel is pretty basic, no fancy amenities but we found it to be clean and comfortable, perfect for our one night stay. The owner and the girls that work there are so nice, ready to accommodate...

I stayed here for two nights on 6/1 and 6/2/2016, perfect location for hiking near by glacier. Since this hotel located in a remote area, hotel dinner probably was the only choice. I ordered meatball, surprisingly so good. Waitress told me her mom made them, homemade Norwegian style . Her mom is the one incharge this hotel, very nice. When...

Travelled here to see the town that my great grandparents immigrated from. Hotel staff were very helpful with local information. Hotel is in a rather isolated location but was clean and comfortable. Scenery is out of this world. Meat ball dinner was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It is a great location for glacier hiking and rafting with the Ice Trolls. The owner and her staff are positively lovely and gracious. We stayed in the apartment which as mentioned in other reviews does have an odd layout. But it is spacious, clean and has amazing views. The food was very good....
