Old Japanese hotel with old japanese style room at its loveliest! Love it so much! They have their own onsen too. The room was big with several rooms. The staffs were very helpful and kind. the only problem was the wifi in our room but that didn't mean much really. Great value indeed

We started of family trip in Tokyo and the first hotel was Hotel Edoya Tokyo. It was an old hotel but very well maintained, every switches in the hotel works. The breakfast was simple and love the Japanese style ones. The room was clean and gave us a feel of Japanese family living. some of the reviewers mention that the... More

If you are looking for a traditional Japanese experience, this is the Hotel to stay at. Very clean and spacious rooms, with a fabulous Japanese restaurant attached for breakfast. Very close to subway and JR lines and convenience shops and restaurants.

I stayed at Edoya Hotel 3 night in October 2016. The hotel is pretty close to Ueno Station and metro lines. The hotel is very clean and very well equipped. The toilet is a bit little but the room big enough for a pleasant stay. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I had a very good impression. On the top... More

I love how they responded to my inquiry immediately and how they managed to reserve rooms for my family without the need for credit card details (as long as you're complying with their no late-cancellation policy). We stayed in Japanese-style rooms and we loved how clean they were, except for some stubborn stains on the tatami mats. Airconditiong and housekeeping... More

An interesting traditional Japanese style hotel. I chose it as it is an easy walk to the University of Tokyo campus, where I was attending a conference. My wife and I stayed 5 nights in a room with a private bath. The room was very clean. I am 6'+ tall and found that I had to duck at every door... More

Stayed here as part of a group in late September. The hotel offers traditional Japanese rooms and is located in a reasonably convenient area. Bathroom sizes are small compared to western hotels. Staff are nice and the wifi is free and reasonably reliable. Hotel offers complimentary breakfast which is adequate.

Very good japanese-style hotel The place has a feeling of "old style ryokan" but has all the necessity the staff is friendly even with the language barrier. Probably the best thing is the japanes-style bath at the last floor, where you can relax after a busy day in tokyo

2nd visit to Edoya, previous 11 years ago. Nothing much has changed. Rooms are adequate ( traditional style). Our room overlooked a very noisy construction site which disturbed us from 8am to 6 pm. Bathroom is very small. Wifi was hard to access from our room. Breakfast was ok but it is poor that they are using non environment friendly... More

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
