The service at this hotel is, true to Japanese custom, excellent and extremely polite and friendly and the staff speak good basic English. This is a true Japanese hotel where almost exclusively Japanese business people stay overnight. As such, the rooms are tiny - just space enough for a bed, a small desk and room to walk along two sides... More

Best of all feature is washer dryer inside every room, you got 2 pack of detergent that can be use 4 times for moderate load (2-3kg.). It is recently renovated so all is fresh and I got recently renovated offer that makes it the cheapest 3 star hotel when I visited. I pay 32.500 JPY for 4 night (inc Saturday).... More

Good business hotel in Suidobashi, 3 minutes walking from the train station. Clean rooms, well equipped. Microwave and kettle, but also a washer/dryer. Very quiet, and excellent value for money. Excellent service.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, while visiting Tokyo. It has a great location, close to Tokyo Dome and a lot of restaurants. The hotel is not big, and the reception did not talk english that well (but it worked out fine!). Everyone was very polite. I had a single room, and was surprised by the room having... More

My mom and I were traveling to Tokyo for the first time. While we were advised to try AirBnB or book a bigger chain hotel, we made the final decision to go with Tokyu Stay because of the room size and ammenities. For the price it offered for our 6-day stay (end of September - early October), I would say... More

My family of 4 stayed at the Tokyu Stay Suidobashi for 7 nights in August 2016. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood about 4 blocks from the Tokyo Dome, 2 blocks from the JR Station, and 3 blocks from the Suidobashi Metro Station. After arriving at Narita Airport we took the Airport Limo Bus (7600 yen for a... More

Stayed in this hotel in Summer 2015 for seven nights. The rooms are small but not too small. Very clean hotel. Our room came with a washing machine and microwave. Breakfast seemed to be different every morning and was excellent. Located close to both the JR and Metro lines. A short walk from Tokyo Dome that has some nice restaurants... More

This hotel is close to Suidobashi station, so it's easily accessible by train and subway. I stayed for 6 nights, and unfortunately didn't sleep too well (partly because of jetlag). The room was great, but not very spacious, the bed comfortable, clean bathroom with clean towels provided everyday. On the other side, the room itself wasn't cleaned, the bed wasn't... More

Provided the rate, this a fairly good hotel. Rooms are goos, hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Room facilities are OK, guest handling is ok. Check-in and check-out time is inconvenient as is the case with most hotels in Japan. Breakfast is quite OK. Location is just fine, 10-15 mins walk from the nearest metro!!!

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

“If you enjoy being close to nightlife, restaurants and grocery stores, this would be a good choice for you. There are a lot of shops in Ikehabara, restaurants in Kanda, and a grocery store that is open 24 hours and carry fresh produce at a fair price literally across the street from the hotel.”
