This business hotel is a good alternative to the more classy hotels in this part of Tokyo. Here I pay JPY10000 per night while places like the Grand Palace is the double. Fast check in, OK room standard, fast complimentary internet line in each room - but not so much more. The complimentary breakfast is not much to have for...

Hi All, I stayed in Villa Fontaine Otemachi in May for a week. The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of business district and Railway stations. All Major Railway Lines are available in 5 to 8 minutes walkable distance. The Hotel does not have a restaurant but there are plenty of restaurants nearby the hotel. There is a...

We came here for our first trip to Tokyo and stayed here for 10 nights. Wanting something affordable we chose Villa Fontaine at Otemachi for the good price and good location. The hotel chain is impressive overall with really nice designs. PROS - Located at an area with little tourist activity so it's quieter and less crazy than say, Shibuya...

We stayed in this hotel in our last 2 night in Japan back in April 2009 for our honey moon. Very clean, nice breakfast, friendly staff. The hotel is very close to the metro and the train station. Nearby there's a road full of restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

First experience of a Japanese hotel. This was easy to find and not too far from the station. The room was very modern and cozy. Staff were great and the price was right. There are a few streets nearby with plenty of restaurants plus there's a convenience store right next door.

Central location within walking distance to several metro stations. Rooms very small but very clean and comfortable. The western/japanese breakfast was simple but a nice addition. Great value for the money.

The best feature about this hotel is it's location. 5 mins walk from Kanda Station (both Metro subway and JR train) and 15 mins from Tokyo Station. Right across the main road is a "walking street" with lots of restaurants/cafes so food is never a problem. Right next door is a convenience store. On our last day, we walked towards...

The location is perfect if you have a Japan Railpass as the hotel is within walking distance of JR Kanda station (and even Tokyo station) so you can use the JR Yamanote line for free to reach many of the sights in Tokyo while being right at the center. We have found the neighborhood to be very pleasant with many...

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
