Location: about 7mins walk from JR Akihabara station Service: Nothing special - just complimentary breakfast Rooms: small rooms, good enough for single person. But very clean. Overall: good value stay in quiet area of Akihabara and decent base for travels in Tokyo Note: Weird texture of pillow - takes time to get used to it.

Very clean small (by Australian standards) rooms, the beds are a comfy but the pillows are made of some random filling that is very unpleasant to sleep on. The staff are friendly but their English is minimal. The hotel is only a short walk from Akihabara station and the neighbourhood is very quiet, I jogged at 5:30am and didn't meet...

My partner and I stayed here for five nights and used this hotel as a base for our travel around Tokyo. The rooms, like in other parts of Japan err on the smaller side. However the rates were extremely reasonable and were inclusive of a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning. It is also located on the quieter side of Akihabara,...

We stayed for three nights. Conveniently located near a major rail station, you need to be savvy in Japanese. Staff speaks very little English. Modern and relatively new building, primarily business men. But they have two women's only floors at the very top floors. Room is tiny, but we each of four got our own room and it was less...

Booked 3 rooms and stayed for 5 nights last August 2015 Proximity – it will only take you 5 minutes to reach the hotel from the Akihabara station. In fact, we just walked carrying our entire luggage with 2 kids in tow and safely reached the hotel. We passed by a bridge that has a ramp area giving you the...

Lot of restaurants and shops around which open til late. Great for traveller who love technology and amine as Akihabara is famous for it. This time we staying at...

Stayed there for three nights. 5min walk fm akihabara station. I liked the hotel because it's new and clean to make you sleep well although it's a small room. The things which I don't like were the elevator ,too small to accommodate guests in the morning and only two elevator so obviously you ve gotta wait if you are in...

This hotel is operated by a leading railway group with good equipments but its servece is not monitored or studied well. A smoking room was too much smell, stimulating eyes, somebody's shart was found in the bed, long queue at breakfast, juice bar machine nozzle scattered juice outside the cup. It seemed to be arranged only by thinking on the...

Stayed here for three nights. It's a good hotel and you get good value for your stay. Only issue is that you can only use WIFI on two floors of the hotel (but there are laptop cables for internet instead). Additionally there are female non-smoking rooms which was the draw for me booking a room here. There is also a...

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
