We were looking for a comfortable hotel in the heart of Tokyo and found it here! Although some people have complained about the size of the rooms we thought it was great for Tokyo! The metro was right outside so getting around was a breeze! Akihabara was such a cool district of Tokyo and there was ALWAYS something to do....

This hotel was great, the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and the hotel new/updated. The location is right next to a major train station so it was easy to get around to other areas of Tokyo and beyond. Also very central for anime fans, we did tons of shopping in the area. The rooms were clean and well...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at Akihabara Washington Hotel. When you come out of Central Exit at JR Akihabara station, the hotel was right across the street. What a perfect location! (At the train station,Akihabara Washington Hotel was listed under Central Exit.) The room was very small, but it was expected being in Tokyo. Everything we needed...

The Akihabara Washington Hotel is a basic hotel thats directly across the street from the JR Akihabara Train Station. While conveniently located, the hotel is very basic. No health facilities and breakfast is not included in room rate. Front desk staff is mostly helpful, depending on who you get. Had an issue one night with 3 people on duty and...

Location is everything, and this hotel is right next to the JR Akihabara station, and a stone's throw from the massive Yodobashi store. The service staff is friendly, though the language barrier does create challenges.

Really convenient to be right next to the JR. The staff spoke English well. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good and offered both Japanese and "westernized" food items with plenty of diversity. As expected in Japan, the rooms are small but ideally you should be out and about exploring anyways.

This hotel is just in front of the JR Akihabara Station, so I think it is highly recommended for any travellers who want to go around Tokyo by trains. There are so many shops and restaurants around the hotel, and the Electric District is just a walking distance, too. One of the great things about staying here is its location....

Hotel was in a great location, close to transport (subway and train), clean, friendly staff.Breakfast was ok although some variety each day would have made it better. Many restaurants close by and Akihabara 'electronic city' a two minute walk away.

Really convenient location and it's a comfy stay! The hotel has everything we need and the location is a Super plus! Just a stone throw away to the train station! The room is cosy and the hotel room size is standard given Japan's standard.

In Tokyo, it seems there are hotels with small rooms at a good price, or tourist hotels with large rooms at outrageous price. This hotel was clean and neat with great location. Staff was friendly and courteous. Breakfast was nice mix of westernized foods and more typical Japanese breakfast.

Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
