Hotel's Favourite
I returned to Japan in April 2023 for Sakura season and chose the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay as my hotel for the Tokyo leg of my trip. I had not visited since 2019 (pre Corona) but the Tokyo Bay has not lost a step.
From the very moment of walking down the street from the Yurikamome station I could tell it was going to be a first class experience as the doorman set the tone by rushing down the street to meet me and take my bag. Check in was smooth and easy and received an amazing room with wondeful views.
The Hudson Lounge is redone/new since before the pandemic and is lovely. The staff is amazing, the range of drinks is great, and on weekends having the dj and saxophone player only add to the ambience.
The food is still great and the range of options thanks to the in facilty restaurants ( I recommend the Pork Cutlet sandwich or the Hamburg steak as standouts if you don;t want the full teppanyaki experience).
Really service here is still above and beyond even by Japan's normal high standards and if you are looking for a quieter hotel that still has easy access to the livelier parts of Tokyo this should be your choice.
Full disclosure I am an IHG Diamond member so i did receive a room upgrade by default.

Two nights at the intercontinental, Tokyo Bay. Located in a business area but nice quiet location amidst the bustle of Tokyo. High quality service throughout hotel. Executive rooms on floor 18 have great views of river/bay and the city (I was lucky to have a corner room with both views). Great view across the bay also from Chefs Live Kitchen restaurant where breakfast is served. Breakfast very good international and Japanese selection. Good location only 10 minute walk to Hamamatsu Station which has JR line and metro connections. Ground floor bar and lounge area also very nice for drinks, afternoon tea or just relaxing. Concierge desk exceptionally helpful on transport advice and arrangements. High quality hotel in good location for either a business or leisure Tokyo visit. Highly recommended.

I am finding that most of the Intercontinental brands are exceeding my expectations! I usually stay at the Strings, however I found Tokyo Bay to be one my favorite hotels!
Perfectly located on the east side of Tokyo, the train and shuttles are close enough to those commuting from Haneda Airport.
Upon early check-in the service was 5-star and also invited me to have breakfast. The rooms were large and the view of Tokyo Bay from morning to dusk were amazing! The comfort and cleanliness of the hotel was perfect, and amenities were certainly not lacking.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the quiet part of Tokyo with a perfect water view of Tokyo Bay.

So when you first arrive at this Hotel, it is easy to be impressed with the Lobby area which is full of comfortable seating however the initial Wow soon wears off.
The room we had which was supposed to be a superior room was actually quite dull and without any character or styling, yes the bedding was comfortable and the Bathroom sufficient.
However it is the lacking in customer care that concerned me, personally I need to get Coffee first thing in the morning and I rarely find a quality hotel that cant serve coffee to guests in the Lobby area in the morning. The only way to get a coffee was as a take out from the 3rd floor Breakfast Buffet area, where the staff tell you that you will be charged for a full breakfast, which obviously I challenged. but was still charged twice as much as i expected.
Then if you are lucky enough to get a coffee there is nowhere to sit and relax with it, The lovely lobby area is closed off with barriers and ropes until 11am. Therefore I was forced to sit on a side chair near reception which is normally for those checking in, In fact that chair was so worn out that the whole seating pad had failed and you literally were sitting on the frame, I brought this to the attention of the manager who simply showed no interest at all.
People like myself often use hotels like this to host business meetings, that is not possible here, we could not get 3 seats together, despite the fact that there were many areas blocked of during the early hours.
Tokyo is a very large city, so anyone’s choice of location depends on your need, but the Intercontinental is next door to a train station which hopefully will connect you to other areas.
I returned to Tokyo after a few days, but decided to stay elsewhere, because this hotel didn’t value me as a customer.

Having stayed at IHG hotel at Roppongi in Tokyo and also in Osaka before, the breakfast at this IHG hotel location is no where to be comparable. The selection is much limited. Also the location of this hotel is not that convenient, many times we had to just take a cab and one time we had a cab driver that was not familiar with the location and had to make U turns twice because he was heading the wrong directions. In addition, the discontinuation of the airport limousine also made this location less desirable. The Tokyo bay view from the room is spectacular and the restaurant downstairs is also very nice, offering variety of food choices (especially there is really not that much other restaurant choice nearby). Will not return to this IHG location in the future.

Me and my wife arrived late in the evening from a long flight. Being an Ambassador Elite with IHG, we were expecting a warm welcome with a room upgrade. Unfortunately, the front desk representative gave us a small room and the air conditioner was not functioning properly. I called IHG ambassador department and i voiced out our frustration that we were not happy with our room. I called the operator and asked for the Duty Manager. I was connected to Mr. Hiroyuki Hara, Assistant Manager, and requested to meet us in our room. Quickly he came by and showed us a suite room with a spectacular view of Tokyo Bay. In our room we had our electric personalized massage chair. Mr. Hara even surprised us to have access to the club lounge during the entire stay ( 5 Nights)
We would like to commend Mr. Hara for a job well done and going the extra mile of an excellent customer service.

Had an 18-hour layover which involved transferring between the two Tokyo airports and chose the hotel as a good place to stay the night. I found the rooms and facilities of the quality I would expect of an Intercontinental and everything was perfect. The room had a fantastic view and was much larger than I was expecting for a Tokyo hotel room. Furthermore, the location was great and was walkable to both Ginza and the old Tsukiji market.
When I visited, I had one request for the hotel which was to get a hard to get dinner reservation. I'm pleased to say the Concierge Saka did an admirable job securing the reservation for me and I enjoyed quite a wonderful meal. I had one problem my entire time in Tokyo which was the taxi that was supposed to take me to dinner dropped me of in the wrong place. I do not know if it was the taxi's fault or the hotel in giving the wrong address, but I am only mentioning this issue because of how I please I was by the efforts of the hotel in trying to correct the problem and make it right with me. Overall an excellent stay and I would recommend this hotel two anyone who needs to stay in the area.

First time stayed in Tokyo Bay Intercontinental. Get there by free shuttle bus from Shinagawa Station to the hotel. However the shuttle bus stop has no signage which took us 5 mins walk after leaving the station. In front of the small lottery shop.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The cafe serve great food.
We reckon this hotel more suitable for tourists where it located in Odaiba can easily access to Venus Fort, Odaiba shopping centre by monorail.
If you looking for a hopping to the island the pier just 3 mins away.
Airport shuttle also available to and from airport to hotel.
Enjoy our stay at the hotel.

We stayed in a beautiful room on the 15th floor and the view was of course outstanding. We looked towards the Tokyo Bay part of the new city. The environs were quite peaceful and very quiet. In the evening there were a few boats that docked in front of us that take passengers to the outlying islands. The chaise sofa next to the huge window was very nice. Ned press o machine was a great extra too.
The hotel itself is not new but they’ve upgraded it a lot. Our room was basically perfect although there were a few hints of not being perfectly new. The bathroom was very large with a very nice separate shower. The linens and towels were exceptional. There’s a new Japanese style club room on the third floor which looks out over the bay which serves a very good, but not superb, of course, array of small bites and alcohol. We are headed there for breakfast now which was included in our room rate, which seemed quite a bargain these days as rates have returned to pre pandemic levels elsewhere.

We are part of TOTO Japan Indonesia tour and had a late night check-in from Azumino / Matsumoto.
Upon arrival we are greeted with all Christmas lightning and all deck out which is a fresh change of view after Japan mountainous trip.
This is a proper five star fully flagship Tokyo hotel with all the bell and whistles, service and all.
Our room is in the corner room the 10th floor so we have the slightly bigger room than standards, this is very roomy even for Japanese standards. Amazing view to the Tokyo Bay and Rainbow bridge, very pleasast view during the day and night.
It is not a new hotel however Japanese cleanliness are high & wifi internet connection are flawless through out the building.
Breakfast buffet located on the third floor with vast option and very delicious tasty cuisine.
Gym are located on the 8th floor, a very tiny gym (ie. two rooms conjoined together) which is only consist of 3 treadmills, 1 pedal row, 1 set of dumbells & a medicine ball. Its a pathethic gym considering a hotel for this size.
The hotel location is not great because its located in the new Tokyo area, which you are away from Tokyo main attraction hustle & bustle however train station is directly in front of the hotel and convenient store Family Mart is only 3 minutes walk.
Cheers & will definitely recommend this hotel & surely will be back...

I’m sorry but you can email the hotel. A typical twin bed room would not fit in 4 pax for sure as the room is just right with no extra space for roll out beds.
By right it should be completely free as long as you are staying in the hotel. Might be a communication issue as the bell person is not that proficient in English and often needs help from the concierge.
