All is easy and simple here. Services are really efficient and relevant. Close to one business center and to one of the station of Tokyo. Good for business stay and short term. Check in and out vers fast.

I get surprised with the service. Everybody was so nice. The room was new and modern with a nice view from the city. Close to Shinagawa Station and easy access to the metro and the trains. I recommend this hotel for all.

This hotel is an oasis in the city! I always love staying here, close to Shinagawa Station and easy access to major arteries of the city. The rooms are really nice and modern! The views from most rooms are breathtaking and you get a birds eye view of the hustle and bustle of the city below!

Stayed here for 2 nights on the way back from Kyoto. The location is superb, being connected the the Shinagawa Station. The shinkansen is there, so are the connections to both airports. The JR Yamanote line is also there! Many restaurants are also around, right below the hotel. Will definitely come back!

Located in the Shinagawa area and adjacent to the JR Rail by skywalk. There are plenty of shops and restaurants. Room was very clean and comfortable but the hot water was a little streaky. There is a fitness center but no swimming pool or jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet was good and what you would expect for a upscale hotel in Asia....

I like staying at the Strings Intercontinental as it is right next to Shinagawa Station (3 min walk) There are many restaurants at the train station as well as a couple of supermarkets. What really top this experience was there was one day when I had accidentally left the "Do not Disturb" sign on for the whole day. This meant...

Stayed at a couple other hotels in the Shinagawa area, but for me this is the nicest. There are lots of other hotels in Tokyo, but this is convenience for Shinagawa train station. Nice breakfast buffet and there is a quaint small bar that can make any drink for you.

Firstly if you like to stay in a hotel with a nice bar, lounge, club, or a wide variety of dining options or amenities, then you would be best staying somewhere else. But while The Strings lacks in its amenity options, it makes up for it everywhere else. The Strings is the best place to stay when arriving by shinkansen...

Good four star hotel in terms of accommodations. Room is a bit small compared to Western standards but not bad overall. Breakfast buffet is outstanding with a lot of different options...though variety on a day to day basis would be better. And easier access to coffee would be nice as well (though hardly any hotels in Japan seem to offer...

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
