This a lovely hotel, very luxurious. Beautiful garden, comfortable room, professional staff. Free wifi-- nice! Free bottles of water in room-- convenient! $18 per day charge to use the workout room-- what?! I'm a Silver Marriott Rewards member, I travel extensively and I've NEVER had to pay a fee to use workout facilities. This type of avarice is not necessary....

I really loved it especially since it has its own garden in which you can see the cherry blossom trees in its season The service was good, too! The rooms are also considered spacious! They serve breakfast till 10:30 with a great view! It was good to the extent that I can revisit the same hotel too (although I love...

This hotel is not in the city center but with a train station nearby, we were able to access main tourist attractions and places without difficulties!! +: the view in the hotel's breakfast restaurant was magnificent!! -the service was over the top: on our first day, we asked the concierge about how to access the train and they immediately printed...

A lovely hotel and a great stay. Of the several Tokyo Prince hotels, the Sakura is by far the nicest. The facilities are modern, spacious and upscale without being pretentious. The adjacent Zen garden is a must see. This is a medium-size hotel conveniently located in a quieter area. Our room was inviting, nicely appointed and spacious by Japanese hotel...

When you don't try a number of hotels in a city its hard to give a frame of reference, but i got a reasonable rate here, lower than hotels around and was very very impressed with the property. Autograph Collection can be hit or miss and this one was a hit. This place has great access to the Shinagawa Station...

We have difficulties for first couple days. After moving around couple, we have a nice room. I expected better service being a Gold member. The breakfast buffet was small to chose from. the hotel is close to the train station. Our rating would have been higher if we would received a king bed as requested instead a double bed. My...

Could have done something cheaper but it was such a treat to deal with jet lag on the 12th floor with a view of Tokyo Tower and even Skytree. When the rain was really bad I was able to just relax in the room. Excellent service.

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.

I would recommend using the Narita express train to Tokyo Shinagawa station especially if staying at the Prince Sakura. Trains comfortable easy to navigate.

Super easy: you take the Narita Express to Shinagawa station and you're there. The hotel is on the western side of the station.

You exit the station from the west side, walk north to the first traffic light (or use the overpass bridge), Next to to the big Shinagawa GOOS there is is a road that goes uphill and lead directly to the Prince Sakura entrance.

Safe travels!

You can take the train and it will drop you directly at the Hotel door, which is convenient. This is your best option if you are not familiar with Tokyo.

However, 2 negatives with the bus: it can get stuck in traffic sometimes (even Sunday), and if you like to read your email or work on your laptop then the motion of the bus might make you nauseous (it does for me).

The other good option (and the one I prefer) is the train.

The Narita Express (N'EX) goes directly from Narita (both terminals) to Shinagawa train station. From there you take the Takanawa (West) Exit. After the short escalator down to the street, turn right (do not go straight, that is the wrong Prince Hotel). Stay at street level, no need to take the elevated walkways. Pass the Pachinko store with the loud music, stay on the street sidewalk till the next street light. Cross there, you should see the sign for the Prince-Sakura at that corner.

Walk the 1 minute up a short incline to get to the Hotel.

Note that there are 4 Prince Hotels in this immediate area. I you are asking for directions be sure to specify Prince-Sakura.

A double bed room is a room with one bed only. A twin bed room is one two beds. It does not reflect the size of the bed.

I would recommend taking the train to Shinagawa station from the airport. Since you land at 10:00 AM, you would have missed the rushhour crowd on the train. The hotel is a 5 mins walk away from Shinagawa station.
