Many are drawn to the Shiba Daimon Hotel due to its prime location close to Tokyo Tower, Hamamatsucho Station and Daimon Station. However, the hotel staff lack an understanding of hospitality and customer service. When we tried to check in and pay by credit card, we found that the fine print in our online reservations specified "cash only" for the discount rate. Two problems here: 1) the condition was in there among other text which had been poorly machine-translated into English, causing general confusion; and 2) The rate they demanded for paying by credit card was far above what the transaction cost the hotel in terms of credit card merchant fees. Further, when I attempted to negotiate regarding the matter with one of the staff, he spoke to me in a rude raised voice.

Here is another problem: Unlike the hotel next door, they don't provide info on the square footage of their guest rooms. These things are so small that there is not enough non-bed floor space to open...

Stayed this hotel due to budget reasons for some time and some nights.

This hotel is belonged to typical business hotel in Japanese English, so that room , bed, bath & toilet is definitely very narrow. You can find . If you are travelling alone with little baggage, it's quite okay , the hotel location is very convenient for many major railaway or bus access to go around in Tokyo. Example : You're arrived in Narita airport , and switch to JR (Narita Express) and arrive to Tokyo station, and switch to Yamanote line and 3 stations , you're already at Hamamatsu-cho station , you just walk 8 minutes to hotel ( or one meter taxi costs around JPY 700 - 800). Accessing to Haneda airport is also convenient with mono railway.

Breakfast charge is excluded and fee is JPY 600, but you can find other food in convenience shop near by for saving money and time.

Hotel staffs are very friendly and some of them can provide reasonable response but you can't expect...

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
