Located next door to subway station - so it's an ideal base for sightseeing and also nice plus when arriving/leaving with luggage. We had a twin room and the size of the rooms and bed was plenty for 4 of us ( 2 adults/ 2 children). Many convenience stores and many food options within a block walking distance. Front desk...

Hotel room is small but included all needed facilities, very clean and most of travelers staying there are foreigners. McDonald's and postal mailbox are nearby. Many Korean restaurants and one good sushi restaurant are one block away

The hotel is placed about 20 m. from exit A1 on the Higashi-shinjuku station. From Higashi-shinjoku station you are very well connected to the rest of the Metro system. The rooms are rather small, but it is ok. The hotel is nice and clean with a 24 hour desk. There are 5 minutes to Shinjuku station where there are connection...

I've been staying in this hotel for 3 nights, the subway is right next door. 3 minimarts in the neighborhood, so we save a lot a of money. The room is nice and clean, this hotel is pretty small compare to American Hotels, but it's normal for Shinjuku. This hotel has many restaurant around here too.

We stayed at this hotel for the whole week we were in Tokyo and absolutely loved it! It's literally next to the Higashi Shinjuku station which is super easy to then connect to any other metro lines. I'm glad to chose to stay here instead of the main Shinjuku station since Higashi Shinjuku is a lot quieter but you're still...

I have stayed at the E-Hotel Higashi Shinjuku several times. I really love the location, despite the rooms being very small (even by Tokyo standards). The hotel has always been functional for me, available for a decent price in the general neighborhood of Shinjuku. So it has always worked for me - not a place that I loved, but a...

Four stars for the location, literally steps away from Higashi-Shinjuku station. There is a Tullys coffee shop next door, and a McDonalds and 7/11 across the street. Around 10 min walk to central shinjuku. Rooms were very small and the bathroom had a weird smell though.

Great location. Very easy to walk to restaurants and sightseeing in Shinjuku and easy to get to the metro and trains. Small room and bath, but perfectly clean and quiet, our room was on the 13th floor/top floor. Would recommend to friends.

Shinjuku is, in my opinion, the best base for exploring Tokyo and this affordable, simple little hotel is a great base for doing just that. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and had everything you could need in them. The rooms are small but that is common in Tokyo and for the price, they are...

This neat and clean hotel with incredibly helpful staff is in the ideal location for exploring Tokyo. From here, you are a convenient walking distance from the local station and Yamanote Line (you'll get to know this very well if you intend on visiting multiple districts). This hotel is also situated close to (walking distance) but far enough (quiet) from...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
