The hotel is spacious and the staff were very welcoming. They run a shuttle to the subway lines which connects you to anywhere in Tokyo. The Waseda district where the RIHGA is located has lots of great cafes and little shops as it is right next to the university. We had amazing coffee from a little place called Mojo's every...

We stayed here when we got back to Tokyo after our trip to Niseko. I'd booked the room weeksnin advance through trip advisor because there was a promo rate which was a good thing because when we got there , the going room rate was already twice what we had paid in advance. And i believe our stay was well...

This hotel is near the Waseda metro on the Tozai line (8mins walk). Large rooms with good standard amenities like a kettle, fridge, bathrobe, pyjamas(common in Japanese hotels). Has a nice bar. Prices in the hotel restaurant and tea room looked high. The Japanese garden is beautiful. There is access to a very nice gym, pool, bath however they cost...

We were apprehensive about our visit to RIHGA. Whilst we snagged a bargain price for our stay, we had read some Aussie blogs that said it was very far away. We stressed for no reason at all a we loved our stay. We caught the N'EX from Narita to Shinjuku and decided, as it was night time, to cab it...

Nice and stylish hotel. A little old fashion but in a grand way. A little out of the way but 5 mins walk to subway and 30 mins trip to downtown or crazy Shinjuku. Actually, nice a peaceful by comparison, best of both worlds 😁

Stayed for 4 nights with our 2 sons (11 and 7) in a junior suite. Separate room and sitting room with 2 extra beds for the boys. Well appointed and clean but the decor is a bit tired. Quiet room. Next to Waseda university and it was nice to be able to wonder around a quiet neighborhood with a lovely...

Stayed here for 4 nights in junior suite - Seperate bedroom and lounge area - lovely! View across local park. Breakfast was good - more Japanese choices than western. Only drawback - not really walking distance to nearest train station (Takadanababa) but hotel provided shuttle every 30 mins. Limited choice of restaurants in hotel - quite expensive to eat in...

I booked this Hotel to assist with visiting a relative living at trendy nearby Kazguraka. I was surprised to find this hotel the best ever choice for some time in hotels. The Hotel reminds me of the Sir Stamford in Sydney. Oppulence, charm and huge rooms and trendy stunning bathrooms. The service, shuttle and position is perfect for tourists wanting...

The hotel is located in the vicinity of a student town - a less chaotic area of Tokyo. Check-in was very quick and efficient, nice welcome by staff. All staff encountered were very discreet, well-trained and professional. The hotel room was slightly on the dated side, but very clean and spacious. They were also very big by Japanese standards. The...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
