My partner and I are luxury hotel aficionados and repeat travelers to Japan, and this was our second stay at the PH Tokyo (last time was January 2016). On this trip, we experimented with three different high-end hotels, beginning with the Aman, testing out the Andaz Toranomon Hills (gracias Hyatt points), and finishing in a Park Deluxe King room at...

This hotel is located on the higher floors of a big tower in Shinjuku. The location is good, central to shopping, sights and restaurants. Check-in was very quick and efficient, nice welcome by staff. All staff enbcountered were very discreet, well-trained and professional. Everyone is standing by to assist. You will not see loud-talking employees playing around together, loudly laughing...

This hotel and its staff exceeded any and I me an any expectations. Everyone was courteous, extremely helpful, delightful and professional. Our room was amazing and spacious, which was crucial as we were travelling with our two young children. Upon arrival the staff went out of their way to make our children feel welcome as well. The food, the service...

Can't really rave about PH Tokyo, especially when compared to the Andaz. We stayed at the latter for a few nights before leaving Tokyo to explore Japan, and returned to stay at the PH before leaving the country. Wanted to compare the two after reading so many differing opinions and in short- PH can't compare. It is a 5star hotel...

I stayed at the Park Hyatt for 5 nights last month and the experience was outstanding. It's quite possibly one of the most comfortable, well appointed, most thoughtfully designed guest rooms I've ever stayed in, and I like to pretend that I live there. When you think about it, to realize that this isn't a new hotel, I have even...

Always a relaxing and excellent place to stay. Service is outstanding, seamless and intuitive. Food never disappoints. Location is excellent especially for food with good variety and different price ranges.

This hotel is among the best I've ever stayed at! It is absolutely beautiful and what really sets it apart from other hotels is the attention to detail and customer service. Before we even arrived, the concierge was able to get us a reservation at Jiro's! We were beyond excited about it and there was an envelope with the reservation...

The concierge was very attentive to our needs and helped us with reservations to the michelin star restaurants we wanted. Check in process and check out was well coordinated among the staff. The hotel location is bit far from the Shinjuku station. There is a shuttle that comes every 20 min,but note it is not a 24 hr service. The...

Although technically I have been to Tokyo several times before, it was only for flight connections at Narita Airport. This was my first true visit to Tokyo. I got a decent package through my favourite on-line travel agency for the Park Hyatt, which I was familiar with due to its major presence in Sophia Coppola's 2003 film "Lost in Translation"....

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
