Stayed at the Shinjuku Washington hotel twice and I loved it. The rooms are indeed really small and there is hardly any space for our luggages to be placed. However, if I could look past this, there is nothing else to fault. Check-in is quick and speedy, counter staff were extremely polite, free toiletries can be picked up at the...

I stayed at Shinjuku Washingtin hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was about 10 minute walk to Shinjuku station. There's 100 yen shuttle bus from Shinjuku station to hotel. I recommend bus if you have your luggage. Although the room was very small it was in good condition and very neat. I put on the 'do not disturb' sign for...

My Japanese hosts booked me into this hotel. It is very conveniently located very close to the Shinjuku station which is one of the key Tokyo transport hubs. The room was comfortable and not too small, and the Japanese breakfast was excellent (if you like fish as I do). I would avoid the coffee shop which was overpriced and the...

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and i think for the price it's a very good deal. They are 2 subway near the hotel and it's very easy to get around. It's 15-20 walk to shinjuku big action for shopping, club, bar, food. Very fun to walk at night. Yes the room is small but it's tokyo, clean...

Tokyo is a big city, and since I was planning to travel out of Tokyo from Shinjuku station, I decided to find a hotel in the Shinjuku area. The Shinjuku Washington hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku station along one of the main roads in the area. The interior is perhaps a bit dated, but clean and...

I didn't go with too much expectation for this hotel as it was cheap as chips and really close to Shinjuku station so I was happy. If it's a better price than similar hotels go for it as 10 min walk to Tokyo's main station giving access to anywhere. Plenty of places to eat and drink within the complex. Rooms...

I asked the receptionist Mr小林for assistance for their coin-operated pc (the keyboard was badly worn out). He shouted at me to "try, try,try myself " after hitting 10 keys on the screen. Then he did the same to another elderly guest. I complained to the general manager and received no reply. Another staff Ms木村also treated guests like low lives when...

Stayed here with family in a triple room for 3 nights on our cross Asia tour. I have previously been to Tokyo on two previous occassions but this is my first time staying at the Shinjuku Washington Hotel. It is actually quite a popular hotel for foreigners and most cab drivers know its location. Location: The prime advantage of staying...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
