We travel in japan last march 21 as a group and we chose hotel rose garden as our hotel for our 4nights 5days visit in japan.. Majority of us are first tine in Japan and we do really appreciate the kindness and hospitality of the locals. Though the hotel is about 2hours fron narita airport the location is very accessible... So first of all, let me tell you, hotels in Tokyo are expensive! I searched long and hard to find a decent option for staying during a recent 4 day visit to Tokyo, and found this little gem in Shinjuku. It is not a largely advertised hotel, but this place is great. The front desk is friendly (limited English, however,... More

Location is OK. 1 min walk to the West Shinjuku station, Marunouchi line but need around 10-15 mins to downtwon area by metro. My room is small just like other hotels in Tokyo, yet the price is competitive. Suitable for budget travelers.

Stayed here with friends, for a week long tourist trip. The hotel has an excellent location, ten minutes walk, a short taxi ride, or one metro stop from Shinjuku station. The metro station is literally under the pavement outside the hotel, so you are connected to anywhere in Tokyo, or even Japan by switching to the bullet trains at the... More

We had the best experience in this hotel. Lovely and helpful staff. Super clean. Excellent location. Close to transport (short walk to Shinjuku station) and restaurants (about a block away is the Shinjuku Nomura building) and shopping (shopping center called Halk). There is a small shop with fruits and vegetables a few steps from the front door. Great place to... More

The hotel has a good location just opposite a subway station. The room was clean, not so big but ok for the center of Tokyo. A little bit noise of the street, but not to much. The beds were also ok. We had one day the breakfast in the hotel. There was a good choice of Western and Japanese breakfast... More

We had a very pleasant stay here for a few days after skiing for a couple of weeks. Communication was a small issue, on checkin staff were adamant our booking had been cancelled. Once they found the booking all went smoothly. Staff were helpful and friendly, they helped with directions and booking airport bus when we left. The hotel is... More

we are 3 large gentlemen who like to travel to far flung places and we settled on the Rose Garden in Shinjuku, tokyo. For a number of reasons: it was well priced: it offered a quadrouple room for the three of us ( japan size rooms are small) : It is beside a metro station ( Nishi Shinjuku ) and... More

We caught the Limousine Coach from Narita Airport to the Tokyo Hilton and walked around to Hotel Rose Garden. We stayed here twice with a week in between in Kyoto. By the time we left the first time we were confident in using the subway and JR. The nearby Nishi Shinjuku subway station has a lift which is a great... More

We stayed here after our ski trip for 4 nights. We had booked the quad room even though there was 5 of us (2 adults 3 teenage kids) - we did have to pay extra for the 5th person in the room no big deal. First of all if you haven't been to Shinjuku before it is crazy busy. Once... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
