We scoured the net for a hotel that has great location and competitive price. MyStays Asakusa is exactly what we were looking for. This hotel is not difficult to find. It was the first hotel we stayed in on our 15 day trip across Japan. I couldn't have chosen a better hotel for it. We had a bit of difficulty looking for it as we arrived at night time and I guess the maps we got were a bit confusing. Thankfully, this Japanese guy who was jogging helped us out...

In terms of size, this is typical for Tokyo, small but adequate. The hallways are a little institutional in appearance. What I found was disappointing was the cleanliness of the room. Tea stains in the kitchenette, stains on the bathroom door and wall.

Some key positives about Asakusa mystays -staff were very friendly, and spoke decent English, enough to allow myself and my partner to request particular things -the hotel is located in a very quiet part of town, which for us was a nice place to sort of begin our journey in Japan -A tokyo subway line is located only 5 minutes...

I spent a week on november at this hostel, very convenient as a starting point to visit the city. Nice and clean tiny rooms like a almost everywhere in Japan. Helpful and efficient staff. This is a much older property compared to most of the Mystays properties I have stayed in. Reception was pleasant and helpful. The only rooms available were smoking rooms. The room was comfortable, people very kind and the hotel situation is perfect to visit Tokyo center or Tokyo megalopole. Price was very low for such a nica and comfortable stay. Tea is free, nice and clean rooms, good bed.
