APA Hotel Yamanote Otsuka-Eki Tower opened on 11th October, 2019. The new urban style hotel is Japan's first global standard model hotel and is a one of a kind, original concept by Apa Hotels. With a refined level of quality, high level of functionality, and the environment in mind our hotels seek to offer safety, peace of mind, and a good night's sleep for all guests. Guest rooms include 50 inch LCD televisions and 140cm+ wide "Cloud Fit" beds which we developed and implemented ourselves. The inclusion of quality amenities and a ceiling light makes for a bright and inviting guest room. These features are the product of our thorough pursuit of guest satisfaction which respects privacy and seeks to provide top level satisfaction in our limited number of rooms. So that our guests may make the most of their limited time with us, we have concentrated the room's switches and electrical outlets by the bedside.

We stayed here for 5 nights and booked 2 rooms because they are 4 of us. Very clean room and amenities. Yes, room is small and highly functional. There are spaces underneath bed to store luggages and we absolutely love the public bath. It is nice to use that facility after a big day out exploring Tokyo. Beds are very comfortable! I also like the fact that we could open window ajar to let fresh air in.
This hotel is about 5 mins walk from JR Otsuka station on Yamamoto line. Plenty of restaurants around in this area and convenience stores.
We had the breakfast and room packages. I find that the cafe is quite small for a 20 floors hotel. There is always a queue and not enough seatings. There are western and Japanese cuisine. Buffet style. Staff tries to assist even though with limited English. I appreciate that.

Property is very new and clean, check in and out is easy, amenities are perfect including toothbrush & paste, clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a fridge, humidifier and a huge tv. Not forgetting there is a coin laundry room at the 20th floor with liquid detergent provided, I didn't use this but for washing is 500YEN.
The hotel is near the train station, about 6 mins walk uphill. There are convenience shops, a small mall with supermarket, starbucks and eateries around. Traditional sushi where the sushi chef can't speak english but can make perfect and delicious sushi at a decent affordable price. We do the body language to let him understand what we wanna order and through google translate. I love the toilet, self cleaning and a tub for you to soak in every night. Don't let the small room bother you when you are out the entire day. Trust me the facilities, location, cleaniness can compensate for that.

My first visit to Japan and I loved it!! I was nervous about staying at this hotel because I thought it might be too far from the main sights in Tokyo, but it was actually perfect. It's only about a 4-5 minute walk from the Otsuka Station on the Yamamoto line. You can easliy reach anywhere in Tokyo on the JR line and connect to metro (if needed) or walk about 10 minutes to the nearest metro stop and take it. Very convenient transportation available.
There's many restaurants, shops, and convenience stores close by. I felt like I was in more of a residential/neighborhood type area than the main touristy areas of Tokyo which meant is was a little quieter and not as busy. I felt very comfortable and safe walking around.
The hotel is so clean, organized, tech savvy and had amazing City views. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast too. There are enough choices to make even picky eaters happy. The spa was fantastic and felt great after a full day of walking around the city. For the price of the hotel, you cannot beat the cleanliness, amenities, and proximity to public transport.
The only negative I can mention is the rooms are super tiny...at least compared to American standards. But, I believe this is common for Tokyo hotels. The rooms still have everything you need.

There are many convenience stores and restaurants in the area, but it is also near a residential area and not too noisy, so we believe you will have a quiet stay. We stayed in this hotel for 6days! I love the new room and all the amenities! Especially the free spa at the 20th floor! The staff is very helpful. The location is walking distance to the train station. And it’s near restaurants and shopping malls. Very quiet neighbourhood as well. Lawson and Family Mart is only a few steps away :)

The rooms are TINY- you’ll have to store luggage under your bed to make any room at all to walk around. Even so, it’s only one step into the bathroom anyway. The room was clean, with plenty of complimentary toiletries.
My biggest issue here was the staff. The English level that we experienced was pretty poor and every time we asked somebody something they would ask 3 other people before we had a simple answer. (Example: when we needed to print something and the trainee - fair enough- asked the trainer, who asked a supervisor , who asked a manager, who asked the duty manager... just to print 1 page of B&W paper and then charged us half a penny. It seems crazy and consequently makes everyone in the queue wait 15 mins longer than they should if 5 people are all dealing with printing a one page document)
