Most of our Japan trip was spent in Kyoto but the first and last days were spent in Tokyo. Had we known about this inn sooner I should have booked this for 2 nights instead of one. Nicholas was very helpful even before booking our reservations. Although the map may seem complex, it's actually pretty easy and close to the...

A pearl located conveniently near Ikebukuro station (10 min walk and one station train or 15 min walk), one of the main transport hubs in Tokyo that will let you conveniently go to all major touristic places. The price is very reasonable compared to other hotels we were looking at. The guests are wonderful, speak english, have a lot of...

I chose this hotel based on value for money and the excellent Trip Advisor reviews and was not disappointed. I wanted to experience a traditional ryokan with the futon on the floor and sparsely furnished room and Family Inn Saiko was perfect for this. Before we had even arrived, we received an email enquiring about our itinerary. They followed up...

We have stayed here for two nights and none of us can fault it! It is immaculately clean and beautiful. The staff are so friendly and helpful! The inconvenience that other people have talked about is that it is a little far away from any stations! This was one of our favorite parts!!! The ten minute walk from shinamachi is...

Staff are good and helpful. The rooms and lobby area were clean. the room's wall is very thick that you can't hear anything from your neighbor. Love the place :) Location is a bit far from the station. It may take 15 minute to walk from the station (from Shiinamachi). It is ok when you are going out from the...

I chose Family Inn Saiko for one reason: cheapest rate of a traditional japanese ryokan for a solo traveler that has positive feedback on Tripadvisor. I must say that from the day I arrived until I went home, FIS was as comfortable as it can be! Coming from Ikebukuro station, I took a cab going to FIS, availing of their...

Even before we arrived contact was made with helpful suggestions re japan rail tickets and how to get from the airport to the Family Inn. We were all so happy there with warm friendly...

A bit far away from the nearest subway station (25mn from Ikkebukuro st by feet) but this is the only inconvenient. Real ryokan accommodation and very warmful tenant who speaks english very well and can give great advices for your trip. Breakfast available and shared with all the other guests.

A quiet and nice neighborhood, but still very central. Ten minutes to Shiinamachi station. Hotel tatami-style-bedrooms, small but very clean and with a good bathroom. Service very friendly, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This is exactly what the name of the hotel suggests - a family hotel, meaning both that it's run by a family, and that it's a...

“They will likely assign the rooms. But this is a good place to stay after trying other Ryokans out. Very clean (like most Ryokans) but the in-room bathroom adds to comfort and convenience. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, but is still close to major subway stations and has a lot of delicious food.”
