This hotel was exactly what some people were describing it in the reviews I had read before my trip. We were there with a tour group, the staff is amazing and the entrance of the hotel plus location is great. The night we arrived we did not have any problems it was not busy and the had are key ready...

This hotel is just a few blocks from the Ikebukuro station, on the north side of the Sunshine City mall. Four floors of shopping, restaurants, rental car, and attractions are all steps away without going outside. Our room was small, but modern and clean. The lobby is functional, busy, not a place to sit and relax, or to meet people....

The hotel lobby is under renovation, it looks better then its previous dated look. I was lining up to check in but they offered me a faster way to check in using biometrics. But the set up process took even longer than if I stayed in the queue. The Indian staff has no idea what to do and refused help...

This hotel is outdated and a bit old. I found the cleaning service to be subpar, really did not trust the cleanliness level of the hotel. Furniture and bedding are old. The hotel is attached to a mall which was convenient. I would not stay there again

Nice room, clean, safe.staff was good and helpful. There is a convenient store at the floor 1. Nothing to complain. But you have to walk to the nearest station. Not so far. The bathroom and the toilet is in 1 space. Quite narrow. I recommend this hotel

I've stayed in this hotel for 3 nights ( leaving tomorrow) as part of an organised group tour of Japan. On a positive note the location is good the staff are really friendly, cheerful, and very willing to help. And free speedy wifi throughout hotel. However the room I stayed in on the 28th floor is in desperate need of...

The check-in process is a bit slow. The staffs are quite nice. Smile can always be found on their faces. The room is clean and tidy with nice air-conditioning. The only thing that annoyed me is that the height of the toilet is too short. My hands has always been hitting the ceiling during shower time.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights prior to our cruise. We were apprehensive however pleasantly surprised as we were anticipating a very cramped room. The room was small but perfectly adequate. The bathroom, also small, featured a nice shower and soaking tub. The view from our window on the 28th floor was magnificent. The room also included a...

This hotel can be reached by the limo bus from both Narita and Haneda airports. The rooms are pretty much Japanese standard. We stayed in the older part of the hotel. The light design is very stupid. Either you turn on all the lights or none. So, if you are going to the bathroom at night, you're going to wake...

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
