The room was fairly small but our three night stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel was very clean and provides a free breakfast which was average. The staff was helpful and spoke good English. There's a subway stop nearby and it possible to walk to a nearby train station, Okachimachi Eki, which will get you to many places you'll...

This hotel was booked by our travel agent. I would describe it as perfectly reasonable for a night but no more. It was not really a tourist quality hotel, rooms were comfortable if a bit small once our bags were opened; the landings were a bit cell block H and also exposed to the elements, rain seem to come through...

Booked by our travel agent for 3 nights prior to a cruise so did not know what to expect. The hotel is like a upmarket UK travelodge but with very small rooms, but you are in central Tokyo and talking to other people on the cruise who stayed in different hotels this appears to be the norm. The rooms are immaculately...

We stayed here for just a few nights- our first stop on a 2 week tour of the country. The hotel is comfortable enough, with everything you need in your room including toiletries, mini fridge, even a night-gown! The rooms are quite small if you have lots of large bags, but I think this is quite normal for Japanese hotels....

Friendly staff but smelly room. Having never visited Japan before, I expected a small room in Tokyo but wasn't prepared for the smell. There must have been smokers in there before us, but even after 4 nights the smell was just as bad. Breakfast was reasonable but the seating was very limited, so it was handy to have the option...

We were really impressed with our hotel stay. We expected a small room but you cant complain when youre staying in the most populating city in the world. Bathroom and shower facilities were better than my own at home! Loved the shower. Housekeeping everyday was lovely. The hotel staff were always lovely and tried to communicate to us in ebgliah...

Easy to find hotel with several metro/subway lines near. Small room but that was expected, but after 3 weeks specious rooms it was somewhat disappointing. Much big groups of Chinese and Russians. Poor breakfast compared to some hotels we stayed.

We stayed at this hotel for our honey moon for 7 days in April 2014. It was pretty much what we had expected, a small japanese double bed bedroom! It was really close to all train stations and a quick walk to town. The only complaint was the wifi only worked downstairs.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
