For the price this hotel rocks. Nice rooms with toilet and shower, helpful staff and free breakfast, don't expect omelets or pancakes but you can fill up on toast, coffee, butter, jam, hard boiled eggs and green salad. A couple of blocks from Shin-Okachimachi metro.

This is one of the least expensive business hotels in Tokyo, with a very good location for Ueno station, park and museums. Rooms are a decent enough size, are very clean and offer free LAN connection. Rates are even lower over the weekend, if you book through the company's website.

The hotel is very nice and very cheap too. As for Tokyo standard, this hotel chain offers great value for money. Out hotel was a bit off the center but few steps away from metro and the great Ueno market and park. Room are super small, modern and well equiped. If you are looking for a Western size room don't...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
