Stayed in a mixed 6 bed dorm in January for 4 nights. It was a comfortable stay. The entire hostel is very clean and well-maintained. Although the hostel was super busy, never had trouble finding an empty shower. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

K's House was recommended by friends and the internet. Everything we read was true. It's comfortable and friendly and clean. We stayed in the four bed private room. Though they were bunkbeds, the mattresses were comfortable, and the bedding was clean and fresh. There is free coffee and tea available, and when we were there, they had a sushi making...

A friend recommended K's House to us and we will now pass on that recommendation. The staff are friendly and full of knowledge. We were there a few weeks, then we took off for a few weeks and when we returned they remembered us. It's nice to feel welcomed back to a place. The hostel itself is located less then...

This hostel hits the perfect note at every turn. Reception is very friendly and obliging. All facilities, from rooms to bathrooms and common areas are spotless. Location is well placed and we had no problems exploring the local area or venturing further with K's House as our base. This isn't a party hostel but there was always some to chat...

I stayed at the hostel for five nights in all. The hostel is located quite close to the subway Kuramae and in walking distance of the Tokyo SkyTree. Although it is about a 20min subway ride to the areas of main attractions the neighbourhood itself has its charme with quite a few retaurants and the like. And the bar of...

If you're backpacking on your own, K's House is a good option for you to go. Clean rooms, friendly staff and free tea. Don't forget to check out the toilet at the reception, as it has lots of 'cool features'.

I love this hostel, good location, easy access to the airport and metro. Quiet, clean, good facilities, and fast wifi in room! Common area is big and cozy, love it! The website didn't mention it, but they DO have free coffee, jam, butter, etc for the morning, you have to bring your own bread. It's a great deal! A young...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
