The best thing about this hotel is the location on the edge of the Asakusa cultural area. The hotel itself has a friendly and helpful front desk. However it's downhill from there. Our twin room is very very small and rather weary. Worst of all its not particularly clean. The bathroom is tiny and is little more than a plastic... More

The hotel location is very good. Near to supermarket and restaurant. Opposite the hotel there is a big hotel where you could get transport to airport Clean and the room is spacious. The only problem with the place is Wifi, very slow connection.

The location is fantastic. The hotel is well situated for sightseeing Senso-ji, Nakamise dori, Kaminarimon, and the slew of shops and restaurants in the area. There are a handful of grocery stores within walking distance. The room was tight but adequate for 2 adults with light luggage, and I would not recommend these rooms for families of more than 2... This hotel was uncomfortable to say the least. The first night they put us with a baby in a smoking room despite us having booked a non-smoking one. The rooms are tiny! We had to put our luggage on the bed to walk around it. The staff spoke poor English, but they were very sweet and accommodating.

Room is good enough for one person, don't bring a big luggage though. Near Senso-ji Temple and there are many shops and restaurants around to explore. Very near Tsukuba Express line and short walking distance to Ginza line which hotel is situated between Asakusa and Tawaramachi station.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at our trip to Japan. The room was clean, fully equipped (charger for european cell phones too!), breakfast excellent, very warm hotel stuff... great location (near Senso-ji temple). If I go to Tokyo once again (and I hope I will), I will definitely stay at this hotel.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
