Spent couple nights at the hotel during my visit to Tokyo, the location is great, Metro station is just next door, also just cross the pedestrians bridge and you get to Jr and skyliner to Narita. The staff was very friendly and the room even small as per Japan standard had everything you need and was comfortable. Couple tips go... More

Very small rooms but allright for 2 days though.A few minutes walk only to Ueno- and Keisei Station which make it easy to explore Tokyo from there and easy for departure to Narita airport. The staff is very friendly but the lobby is too small for the size of the hotel.

Very good hotel, friendly staff nice rooms, good location. Location is very good, just a few minutes walk from the JR Ueno station. Once you go out of the station, you can actually see the hotel, it is quite a big building.

This hotel is located in front of ueno station. It is near the ueno park but you have to cross the station to reach the park. This hotel is conveniently located. Around the area are some resraurants and food stalls. Also in this area, around 2-3 minutes walk, you will reach ameya yokocho which is an open market. You will... More

We booked one of the "Panda" rooms, which was fun, but the theming was fairly minimal - some panda cushions, shower curtain, cups and saucers and toilet paper, plus a large plush panda toy. Compared to other theme rooms like the Koala rooms at the Lotte hotel, it was a bit disappointing for the extra cost. However, the room was... More

We booked 3 rooms for 4 nights for our group of 6. The bathroom was very clean. Everyone enjoyed the shiseido bath salts, deep tub, and other amenities such as robes, slippers, and Lady's waffle weave pj's. The room was small, but well organized. The beds and linens were comfortable, but while the pillows were probably filled with something organic... More

As a member of this hotel, I had stayed here three times. This year I and my daughter lived here from June 27 to July 1 for her summer trip. Regardless of the small room that happened in most hotels in Tokyo, the location of this hotel is its best advantage.

The room was very clean and full of necessary amenities. Well- trained staff members. The standard room with Queen size bed is quite packed for family of 3 but should be OK for couple or solo traveler.

For those who want to stay in the center of it all - this is the hotel - 5 mins walk from Ueno main station in the heart of Tokyo. Akihabara shopping district is a 10 min (2400 yen) taxi ride away. There's a street food lane not far away. Hotel is expensive for what you get. Overall it's good... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
