It's pretty affordable, and very close to the train station. The rooms are pretty simple and basic - just to covering what you need. Staff is very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this for budget travelers who don't need a 5 star experience and just needs a decent and clean place to sleep / shower in.

The hotel is located away from JR Ueno Station for 20-min walk but away from a small subway station for 5-min walk. There is a convenient store outside too. One point to notice is that there are some funeral business nearby so the street become quiet after evening. Every time when I communicated with the staffs, they were nice and...

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the room was pretty cheap. Its not the newest hotel/hostel but it was very clean and housekeepers were great. I definitely recommend the electric bike hire.

They are so friendly and always smile. This place is close to stations and cheaper than other hotels. I don't know other rooms but our room(twin room) is a little bit small. Their internet is good but their router is on the wrong spot. It is far from corner rooms. We connected hardly.

Friendly staff and hotel. Helped us out a lot when traveling in Japan. Hotel is definitely value for its price. It is located in a quiet and peaceful place that is suitable for travellers looking for a place to relax after spending the day traveling in Tokyo.

we slept on the top floor and kept awake about the noise on the roof, because of the wind. Bed was very hard. Big room but the bathroom was very small and I believe the only hotel with no electric toilet. Staff was nice, but for this price there are way more better locations to stay. walking distance to the...

If you're in Tokyo on a budget and don't want to do a hostel or capsule hotel, this is the place for you. It's basically a step up from a hostel- at least you have a private bathroom! It's easy to find, and in walking distance of Ueno station if you're coming from the airport or JR train. Stayed in...

Stayed here for 5 nights. Opted for a tatami room since wanting to have some authentic japanese bed experience. Regretted it at first because when I opened the door, it was smelly. Turned out it was the tatami's smell. It was overwhelming but it did not trigger my sinusitis. Later, I got used to it. The bed was comfortable enough,...

The hotel is located near to the Inaricho station. Ask around and most people there know where it is. It is quite hidden between buildings but the hotel is still visible if you walk past it. The WIFI worked perfectly. The heater was fine. The hotel staff had good commant of English. Most importantly, you can walk to Ueno Park...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
