Hotel is only 3 years old and the rooms are a clear reflection of it. The rooms have a modern decor and are much larger than most hotel rooms you would get in Japan. Has a shuttle that runs ever 20 minutes to shinigawa station. Not convenient to try and walk here from the train station. If you are trying... More

Had a excellent stay at the Tokyo Marriott! Spacious and modern rooms! Staff was very accommodating and genuinely cared about their guests. Close to a cool aqua park/aquarium which has an indoor dolphin stadium and other exhibits. It is a quick walk down the hill to the Shinagawa train station which made it easy for transportation, if you miss the... More

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Overall, it is a good hotel. The front desk is very helpful. the room is neat, clean and spacious. The bathroom also spacious. The G lounge where we took the breakfast is quite nice. There are various food from italian (such as pizza), japanese (udon), western (breads), egg station, various flavor of juice. There... More

Rooms and bar area were decent. The check in area is below par for sure along with the executive lounge. It is close to nearby attractions and not that to rippongi. The week I was there it was pretty packed and i had to pay an exorbitant price. Not sure i would go back.

We stayed here after traveling around Japan for 10 days. It was very clean, with beautiful modern decor and comfortable rooms. The location is close to the Shinagawa train station and has a number of activities close by. This is not in the major tourist area and has many more business travelers/conference attendees. The fitness center was large and with... More

Dont get fooled by the pictures on the website. It is one of the lousiest Marriott hotels I have stayed at! I checked out after one night and went to the Grand Hyatt (which interestingly was less expensive on that tday and a true 5 star). The "lobby bar/lounge" is the best feature and that's where it stops. The checkin... More

This is my first time in Tokyo so I don't have anything to compare this to but I love a Marriott. We were here for a week for work and last year my co-workers stayed in a hotel closer to the office which they said was nice but had much smaller rooms. I had a King sized bedroom and it... More

We stayed at the Marriott for 7 days and then at the Prince for a few more. We wanted to compare the two. I personally much preferred the Marriott, the room was very small but very functional. Great hotel located just outside of the city. Spacious rooms. If you arrive into Shinagawa via the subway/train, there's a (free) bus that operates just outside the station and will take you directly to the hotel. It's call the Hybrid Non Stop and runs about every 20 min or so (730a-930p)...very convenient. Step out of the station and goes to... More

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
