At the end of a long day of cycling the Canal du Midi, arriving at the beautifully restored very old Auberge de l'Arbusier in tiny Homps was a welcome surprise. And the owner is also an expert chef. He made us a delicious and well presented meal that was perfect in the evening and breakfast was just right too. Enjoy!

We stopped overnight while touring the area. Host very friendly. The auberge is rustic with exposed beams etc. Our room was clean, overlooking the outdoor dining area and the canal, with an updated bathroom. There was a ladder up to a loft bed, which we didn't use. We had an excellent dinner outdoors overlooking the canal, all with attentive but...

Definitely not to be recommended! the ONLY Restaurant in France where I have been declined a table -TWICE !!!! The reason - I was on my own! They would not take a single booking - incredible. I have eaten here before in company of friends..the food was ok - couldn't really complain - but it wasn't breathtaking either... The place...

We stayed at Auberge de L'Arbousier for 1 night on a cycling tour organised by Randelo Velo. The location is very picturesque, alongside the Canal du Midi with a lovely view across the landscape to the distant Black Mountains. It is easy walking distance to the village of Homps along the canal path. The accommodation in the auberge is very...

We had spotted this place on a trip on a canal boat and vowed to come back because it looked so idyllic. What a dreadful disappointment. The room was filthy, as pointed out in several other reviews. But the worst part was we were not allowed to order off of the menu -- we were only allowed what came with...

I really wish I could give this place 4* but the cleanliness of the room let it down big time! we stayed here with a group of friends and in the evening had a really superb meal which I would give 5*. The host was friendly enough but a wee bit more effort would not have gone amiss. This place...

Have read other reviews about lodging but can't comment - except to say it is an auberge - not a five star hotel. We dined there on our last night of a canal du midi journey with friends. And what an experience it was. A table outside on a lovely balmy night. We opted for the 29 euro menu and...

I stayed as part of a cycling tour along the Canal du Midi. It is very rustic and looks like a converted barn. We had dinner there in addition to accomodation. The room decor was slightly tired. But a minor thing. The food was amazing. Not fancy just very very good and home made. The host was very french. Shrugs...

We stopped over here on our cycle trip along the canal. The auberge is unpretentious; a simple friendly place to stay. We had a room which was quite basic but had a very good refurbished ensuite with an excellent shower. We chose to have our evening meal here and did not regret it as the cooking was excellent. The only...

We turned up after a long day of cycling to be told that our room had been overbooked and other accommodation had been arranged close by. The alternative accommodation was in a small room, overlooking a road with quite a lot of traffic noise. Another couple there also had been 'relocated' for a similar reason.
