A friendly welcome, quaint rooms, very clean. The hotel, Catherine and Mr Cookie her dog were "Just my cup of tea". Dont expect 5 star, ideal for my business one night stop over but I am sure if you just need a bed, hotwater and friendly English speaking host this would be great base for a holiday. Nearby pizza restaurant and bar as well as small bar on site. Thank you.

I spend too much of my time in hotels. A necessity because of my work. Invariably, despite all the stars they are awarded and the money lavished on decor and facilities, they are impersonal, aloof and agnostic to the customers' human requirements. So it was an absolute delight to have had the opportunity to spend 5 days in the Azur, which despite its 2 stars and lack of grandeur, provided a refuge and home from home that I would repeat in an instant. Yes there may be no evening restaurant but the breakfast offered one more variety than most French hotels and certainly those with a similar rating. Do not fret over where you can find your lunch or dinner because next door is a popular brasserie, much frequented by the locals, which on my first night was serving large portions go moules frites as the days special at E9.50 and a drinkable red wine at E10 a litre. There are plenty of other decent restaurants within easy walking distance. The rooms are well equipped and and clean and, importantly for these days of instant communication, have free wifi. Please take note those hotels who charge me E200 a night and then want to clobber me with another E12 for the privilege of logging on to the internet. It goes without saying, but I will say it, that the success of this hotel can be laid firmly at the door of the owner, Catherine. She is best in class when it comes to customer care and hospitality. Although she had just had a full summer of vacation visitors, which would have worn out a marathon runner, she was still full of energy and good humour. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I had the impression that she approaches her work as a vocation rather than a means to make money. Thank you very much for everything Catherine from the Englishman, the Dutchman and the Frenchman who had a wonderful time at the Azur Hotel.

I was nearly put off by the appearance but, although the exterior needs a lick of paint and the rooms could do with some modernisation, I loved the olde worlde charm of the room. It was clean, comfy bed, the shower was great, the receptionist spoke wonderful English and was very helpful and friendly. Parking was secure and we felt safe leaving it in the car park overnight. We intend to stay here again next time we go to the South of France as it is very central to explore this region.
