On our most recent Botswana trip, we stayed at three Kwando Company camps: Lagoon, Lebala (see separate reviews) and Little Kwara. Little Kwara was a very good experience, but definitely our least favorite of the three. The camp does offer a real wilderness experience: lots of wide open spaces for game viewing, no phones, no wi-fi, minimal electricity. The tents...

It was my first time ever to be fully disconnected from everything...Electricity, telephone connection and internet... In the beginning it is stressful as you are literarily cut off the world...then it grows on you and you start enjoying the experience and your connection to your surrounding and mother nature. This camp is not accessible by car and we had to...

the room was clean and luxurious. The landscape was beautiful and the staff at the camp were friendly. The guides completely ignored me whenever I tried to talk to them about what we wanted to see and later made excuses about why we didnt attempt to look for animals that we knew were in the area. This compiled with the...

A wonderful camp to stay in. Very comfortable and clean with staff that go out of their way to ensure that this is the best experience you are going to have.Energy to the camp is via solar, generator and gas bottles so don't expect power points, fans or TV's in your tent. There is a central "charging station " in...

We were booked here as part of a two-week package through African Travels. This is a tented camp, so wood framed individual cabins for two with canvas walls and ceiling. Don't expect a luxury property, despite the on-line pictures. Food choices are limited. The staff is eager but inexperienced. The plunge pool is not useable as the water quality is...

We stayed five days and three days would have been enough. The tent/camp was large but hot, there are no fans and even when there was a breezy outside the room was stuffy. There are no electrical outlets in the room and no wifi. The bed was large and comfortable and the outside shower was fine. The area is very...

This was my second time at Little Kwara and I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. Leso and Charles were the managers and I felt that they and the rest of the staff couldn't be nicer and more accommodating. The food was served in copious quantities and was always excellent. The guiding by Dix was excellent and...

We stayed at Little Kwara last week for 3 nights. This was our first safari experience and we loved it. We arrive via small plane greated by a giraffe and our guide Dix. We were escorted to our tent and prepared immediately for the evening game drive. The tented rooms are huge with a lovely porch and outdoor shower. temperture...

We stayed 3 nights at the end of August. On the edge of the delta, the landscape is varied and the game drives cover wide areas including wet and dry environments. We saw lots of wildlife, the highlight being a large pride of lions with two huge, black-maned males. The drives roamed over quite large distances - be prepared to...

Accommodation in this remote camp was good, although a ceiling fan (which the sister property Lagoon has) would have made our tent much more comfortable. Overall good accommodation though, spacious and with a shady deck. Common lounge area good, however the charging station located there (there are no powerpoints in rooms) just wasn't coping, leading to numerous hassles charging camera...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
'Intimate' and 'personal' are core Kwando Safaris values. The vast wilderness areas in which our camps are located are known for their remoteness and high quality wilderness experience. With the intoxicating sunsets, tranquillity and endless horizons, most people are reluctant to leave! In order for a camp to be included in the Kwando Safaris circuit, it must have the following characteristics: • Intimate and personal - no more than 18 guests per camp • Allow the sounds of nature to dominate • Be managed by experienced and talented citizens of Botswana with motivated and caring staff • Embody the unique Kwando 'Guide and Tracker experience' • Be staffed with guides with the experience and personalities to ensure that no activity is dull! • Limit each game drive vehicle to a maximum of six guests • Have structures that are semi permanent ensuring minimal impact on the environment • Demonstrate environmental best practices in daily operations including the use of renewable energy sources. ... more   less
