Lebala was the highlight of a 3 week stay and 6 lodge trip in Botswana. The staff absolutely make their lodge special. From the evening singing, the guiding, the personal attention, the fun, to the help shopping in the little store these wonderful people created a warm and unique atmosphere. The guide with a tracker up front was a feature... More

This is a wilderness area and we visited at a low point in the season - so, aside from one other couple and the staff we were the only people there. The staff were very attentive - although they would have been anyway we think. Our lodge was very good and the food excellent. There was an abundance of animals... More

We chose both this camp and Lagoon with the hope of seeing African Wild Dogs, we achieved this on the second drive on our first of two night stay, our guide Hopps was fantastic, not only a character but really informative throughout. The camp itself is very remote, the lodges are lovely tented style with outdoor showers and a bath,... More

I'll preface this by saying I've stayed in numerous lodges in southern Africa, so have some comparative experience of the types of accommodation available. In many ways, this is a nice camp with much to recommend it: the communal areas are spacious and comfortable and there is an all inclusive self-service bar and tea/coffee station that is available at all... We stayed for 2 nights at the Kwando Lebala Camp on the Moremi-Kwando Concession in Botswana in August 2016. The accommodation was very good (including elephants coming through the camp!) and the guides who took us out to see a real variety of wild animals at very close quarters were excellent. The camp has only 8 spacious en-suite "tents" with... More

We were more than thrilled to have our guide Bali and tracker Obzar drive us along as the dogs hunted, raced, drank from a well, rested, and socialized. This observation was over a good hour and a half. The next day we spent another hour or more observing 13 pups at the den. The adults returned to the den and... More

We saw so much wildlife here! The area still feels a bit wild which we loved. There were more opportunities to see the animals 'in action' here than in other camps we visited, including watching hunts. Our guide, Bates, was wonderful at showing us things and explaining things to us. Animals we saw included lots of wild dogs, lions and... More

We spent two nights in early June at Lebala Camp. This was an excellent continuation after Kwara and Lagoon Camps, giving us overall a far more rewarding safari camp and wildlife experience in Botswana than we had expected. There was a large and varied quantity of wildlife, both animals and colorful birds. Guides are readily willing to look for and... More

What can I say about Kwando except that it is one of the best places I have seen in my whole life. Everything was perfect, from the amazing location, i.e. right in the middle of the African wildlife, to the delicious food, without forgetting the very kind staff, always ready to help and share stories. The best about Kwando is... More

Lebala staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate everyone. The food was absolutely delicious. The tents were clean and comfortable. We saw fantastic game. Whilst driving into the camp we spotted an amazing sighting of a leopard. We saw lions, hyaena, many elephants, vultures, many giraffe, buffalo, great birdlife and much more. I highly recommend... 'Intimate' and 'personal' are core Kwando Safaris values. The vast wilderness areas in which our camps are located are known for their remoteness and high quality wilderness experience. With the intoxicating sunsets, tranquillity and endless horizons, most people are reluctant to leave! In order for a camp to be included in the Kwando Safaris circuit, it must have the following characteristics: • Intimate and personal - no more than 18 guests per camp • Allow the sounds of nature to dominate • Be managed by experienced and talented citizens of Botswana with motivated and caring staff • Embody the unique Kwando 'Guide and Tracker experience' • Be staffed with guides with the experience and personalities to ensure that no activity is dull! • Limit each game drive vehicle to a maximum of six guests • Have structures that are semi permanent ensuring minimal impact on the environment • Demonstrate environmental best practices in daily operations including the use of renewable energy sources ... more   less
