We stayed at Son Penya for 2-nights in July 2020 in 2 different rooms, Junior Suite and Villa Deluxe (with private pool). We arrived early and was kindly offered breakfast. Due to covid-19 they didn't have the usual buffet but instead offered a table service. You had an option to receive a mixture of dishes ranging from fruit, mini pastries, yoghurt, ham, cheese, eggs and crepes. We ordered a mixture of dishes, omelette and freshly squeezed juice. Breakfast was brilliant. You are given a paper with the wifi details and a QR code which you can scan, this takes you to a website where you can access all menus, information on reception opening times/ numbers/ car or bicycle rental, mini bar prices etc. The Junior suite (Number 12) was located just outside the reception, it was very clean and we had access to a semi-private garden, 2 lounge chairs and a parasol. You would get the occasional guest walking through our garden from the main pool but it wasn't too much bother. The air con was a little on the weak side but did cool down the room. You have all the amenities you need but there was no full length mirror in the room. The Villa Deluxe (Number 16) has its own private pool, it was very clean and much more spacious than the Junior suite. The pool area is very private, you can't see your neighbours when swimming on sitting by the pool and there are only a handful of houses in the far distance. The tv was slightly bigger than the one in the junior suite but most of the channels are german or spanish. Both rooms come with a vanity kit (pads, ear buds), hair dryer, eco toothbrush, tooth paste, bath salts, l'occitane shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. You can also use a humidifier which comes in the room. The mini bar had 1 coke, 1 still water, 1 sparkling water and a kombucha, you get 1 bottle of water for free, the other drinks are prices from €3.50 each. You also have access to a coffee machine, you are given 2 coffee pods and 2 decaf pods and some sugar. Room service ran from 1pm-3pm and 7pm-10:30pm and drinks room service was 24h, however we did try to call at 2am one night and no one picked up. We ordered room service on both nights and the service was great. We ordered the club sandwich with fries (€14), ham and cheese toastie (€13), ham and cheese pizza (€14) and for dessert a white chocolate brownie with blackberry sorbet (€6) and the banofee pie (€6). The food was great and very well presented. The food offered at the restaurant is separate to the food offered at room service, the restaurant food is average €25 per meal. The service was over all great, the staff was friendly and it was a lovely quiet escape. We rented out the bicycles on both days, they offered helmets for safety. We cycled to a nearby town called 'Sant Llorenç des Cardassa' roughly 6km return from the hotel, it was a great ride, lots of down and uphill roads but very safe as long as you keep to the right of the road. The town was very quiet and most shops we're closed but we found a great place called 'Bar Olimpic' which sold ice cream, drinks and snacks!

Beautiful place where you ll feel at ease and relaxed! We had the chance to be in a little villa with private pool. It was private and spacious. Very clean and tasteful. Really enjoyed it! Communal area are pretty! The restaurant was not the best. Slow. The restaurant staff were a bit slow as well and not very welcoming! When you pay a lot of money you wanna have staff that speaks very good english. The receptionists on the other hand were great! One was laura but can t remember the name of the other one. Thx for ur hospitality:) Overall great! Go but not to the restaurant;)

Most charming countryside estate in the south of Mallorca, equipped with an amazing spa and sweeping views over the rolling hills, Son Penya was our escape for a week. Our private swimming pool suite with jakuzzi bath had all the amenities you may ask for. Elegant and refined public in a sophisticated space, plus a restaurant worth a Michelin star. Utter peace and tranquillity.

A perfect finca hotel nestled in the stunning eastern Mallorcan landscape. Room design is bright, minimalistic and simply beautiful, perfectly fitting the surrounding nature. Pool and grounds are outstanding (great job by the gardener). The hotel’s own restaurant offered very delicious food and provided a great selection of local wines (try the BBQ and the music dinners). The sommelier is very good and extremely friendly as is the warm-hearted other staff. We will definitely be back, especially against the background of Son Penya becoming an adults only gem.

We have been going to Mallorca for 16 years and enjoyed the various agrotourismo fincas we have stayed in, but Son Penya was very different and our now go to place in future. It is a wonderful adult only oasis with lovely vistas over large lawn and gardens of open country side. The architecture is beautifully set out, modern but retaining features that are Mallorcan in nature and feel. Architecturally stunning to my eye without being intrusive. Junior suite is the ideal choice but double rooms more than adequate though shy on storage. Wonderful swimming pool for laps and just cooling off. Again, architecturally stunning. Food is out of this world, so no need to leave to go out and several people come just for the restaurant, "Ses Senses" as a result. Michelin trained chef, is why. Laura and Marybelle and all the staff are superb and unobtrusive. If you want to chill and get away from it all and stay away, this is it.
