Friday night stay in March 2015, The staff are excellent and the hotel room was clean and presented well. The food at the hotel is of good quality and ranges from standard english cuisine to a more high end restaurant style. The hotel catered for all ranges and would highly recommend it.

We stayed in one of the outbuildings at the hotel, very clean, large room, large bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, lovely setting. Check in staff were very friendly and attention to detail cannot fault (receptionist remembered from email that it was my partners birthday). You can book a time for your preferred evening meal and this is done when... More

Visited on one of their deals and was surprised to get an upgrade to one of the rooms with a bath in the room - all very nice. Food in the restaurant was really good and the breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Only reason that I haven't given 5 stars is due to the fact that there was a large... More

This was the third time we have visited. Very disappointed to discover that we could no longer park down by the hotel – now disabled access and drop off only – and were required to park half way down the hill, with access to the hotel down a number of flights of steps. Very inconvenient, not to mention dangerous, despite... More

Stayed here for wedding anniversary and was pleased. The rooms are well sized and fitted out. Room service was very good and reasonably price. The setting itself is very pleasant. Breakfast was generally good but pastries were not covered and there were lots of wasps and flies about which stopped us eating them. This and the fact that the room... More

My husband and I stayed for one night for a wedding close by on Friday night, we arrived slightly later than expected but were not disappointed. This feels more like an old country house (which it undoubtedly was once) and mainly operating as a restaurant which also offers rooms to stay (no spa facilities or gym etc). The restaurant attracts people from all around - but they make room for residents if you tell them you wish to eat there. Food is very good both evening... More
