Spacious hotel, staff responsive adding a cot for RMB150 including breakfast. No western news channel, mini-fridge wasn't working. bathroom door was very heavy to slide. breakfast buffet time was very crowded, so go after 840am. overall good hotel. rooms even had direct usb outlets in the wall.

I stayed here for 5 weeks during a project start-up at a nearby factory.
PROS: Size of the room, beautiful property, price of the room per night is inexpensive for what you get, always hot water for showers, fast laundry service, friendly staff, Bank of China ATM in lobby that accepts foreign cards to dispense RMB, average wifi & internet speeds, fitness center with free weights, and western style restaurant (that served hamburgers, fried rice with beef/vegetables, black pepper spaghetti with extra black pepper sauce, fried potato wedges, etc.).
CONS: Some staff members do not speak good English so communication could be a pain for a non-Cantonese/non-Mandarin speaking person. The refrigerators get cool, but not cold--not good for beer or beverages. All of the TV channels were in broadcasted in Chinese language. The Western restaurant has decent food, but service can be a little slow (I got faster service when ordering food to be delivered directly to my room). The location is far from the city center and the taxi drivers charge unmetered, flat-rate of 50 RMB for one way trip.

It was such a nice hotel, compared to the hotels that we previously checked-in for our tour. Room was huge, (even for 3 beds), we can still move around freely. There was an office area as well. Toilet and bath was big as well, with shower and bathtub. Wifi was strong. Breakfast was ok. Would have given this hotel a 5star, but staff does not know how to speak English.

Location - It's near to the poll station of Kaiping county, which means it's at an outskirt area.
Ambience - This hotel is touted as a countryside resort. It does have that feel in terms of the size and scale of the hotel, but I suppose it has seen better days. There are parts of the hotel that shows a lack of maintenance.
Room - The room is huge and sports a balcony, which is nice to chill in the evening. The bathtub was a bonus, but it's advisable to watch the temperature of the water as it can be erratic. I supposed my room has not been occupied for some time as it was musky, and the TV was not even plugged in. As housekeeping was dismal, i connected up the system myself!
Breakfast - Decent breakfast but with limited western selection. The chinese selection was delectable though, which included some local specialties (rice dumpling). Do not miss out on the live cooking station, which is tucked at one corner.
Service - Not much service standard to speak of. Service was transactional. Staff hardly smiles and they looked like they did not enjoy working there.
Overall, not too bad for a peaceful stay. There weren't much people when I was there so there was no overcrowding whatsoever for the facilities.

Unfortunately there aren't many accommodation options in Kaiping but this one does the job. For the price it's good value. The rooms are massive and fairly luxurious. One lady on reception spoke pretty good English but hardly anyone else did. She helped us organise our transport around the diaolou. The food was terrible. It's really close to Yi Ci bus station (10 mins).

I am not sure if this hotel is new. It's about 5km from the city center of Kaiping. Hotel is very near the Unesco world heritage site of Kaiping Diaolou.
There are more places to choose from in the Kaiping area.
