I stayed here for 2 nights in September in Abai chalet. The chalet was a good size and it was a nice touch having an outside jacuzzi bath. The chalets are set in lovely grounds and you definitely feel at one with nature. The food is outstanding and the staff especially Nicki are very helpful and I look forward to returning one day.
This was perhaps my favourite place we stayed in Borneo! Location is amazing, and loved all of the hotel area like the lovely outdoor bar/restaurant. Perfectly located for visiting Sepilok to spend the day with the orangutans. I loved it here!
I stayed 4 nights in a standard chalet. It was so peaceful (although animal noise is always present in the jungle) and the layout ensures a lot of privacy. Comfortable bed, lots of space, 2 bottles of water a day, kettle and hairdryer in room. Restaurant area is spacious and well laid out. Food is fantastic (people came from the next resort over!) and the free breakfast included fruit, eggs, beans, waffles, rice and noodles. There was a grill for toast and the hotdog sausages if you wanted. Pool to cool off in. Staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. 10 mins walk to orangutans and sun bears. I wish I could have stayed longer!
We spent three nights at the resort and loved every minute of it. Room was clean and had everything you needed to enjoy a relaxing time. Great to be able to walk to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuary. Staff were lovely and friendly in both the restaurant and reception. Breakfast was great but maybe you could invest in a toaster as the charcoal on the bbq was often too cold.
In the middle of the jungle.Jungle sounds at night. charming. Lovely staff. Nice restaurant. Very nice pool. Free and fun atmosphere. Walking distance from the Orange Oten Rescue Center and the Sun Bears Rescue Center. Highly recommend
What more to say except perfect? It’s rare to admit that a place can offer EVERYTHING that you are looking for: tranquility, service, confort, amazing food and staff! Special thanks to Avie in front desk for her help arranging everything and all staff for their professionalism and smile! I’ll be back for sure! Carol
We had a lovely, peaceful two night stay here, whilst visiting the orangutan rehab centre. The chalet was nicely presented, and I liked the outdoor shower (in addition to regular indoor bathroom) - it was lovely to hear birds etc whilst having a cooling shower. The food was mostly very tasty ( particularly loved the butter prawns, but the Satay chicken was dry) and well priced. The restaurant area was a perfect place to chill out after a busy day. The staff we came across were all very friendly and helpful. In particular one girl working in the restaurant ( don't know her name - she sang while she worked and seemed very happy in her job) gave very good service.
Great place to stay! It is within walking distance of the orangutans and sun bears. That meant we could go to both orangutan feedings and have lunch at the hotel in between. A short taxi to RDC and a slightly longer one to the proboscis monkey place (you need a car to get around there anyway!) The staff were lovely and friendly. We booked all our tours through them which made it nice and easy. Rooms comfy and clean. Good AC. Loved the outdoor shower when it was too hot. Food could be a bit better but still good enough. Some dishes better than others. They take card and will do some cash back which is handy as no ATMs nearby. A great base for all the wildlife tours. Nice short forest trail at the back of the hotel is a nice bonus. Would recommend!
This place is just the best. Our cabin was located at the far end of the resort, practically in the jungle, and we loved it. So peaceful, all we could hear was the sounds of nature. The cabin was very comfortable and clean, the restaurant provided a very good and varied choice of excellent quality meals, the plunge pool was refreshing, but best of all was the friendly and welcoming attitude of all the staff. They were delightful, and we were very sorry to say goodbye to them. We’ll definitely be back!
We had booked this resort just as somewhere to stay overnight during a 2 day visit to see orangutans. After a full and very hot day at the orangutans, we arrived and were blown away by how nice it is. The children enjoyed the pool very much. The restaurant staff were super friendly, and the food was very tasty and good value (we had eaten at the Nature Resort at lunchtime - wish we had made the effort to walk here!). We spent the next morning at the Resort, in the pool and going for their jungle walk. A perfect place for a bit of downtime in the heat.
