An amazing hotel perfectly placed for the orangutans, rain forest discovery centre and sunbears. The cabins are basic but perfectly formed. The service from all the staff was amazing and in particular the food and drinks in the restuarant. It was very quiet on our 3 day visit which was lovely just don't expect an amazing breakfast, although it is perfectly adequate. We walked everywhere so no need for taxis, only to and from the airport.

Absolutely gorgeous setting with friendly staff and kind owner. We experienced a warm welcome; they were accommodating and helpful with our room change request from two double rooms to a family room. Some considerations for improvement: we would have expected a more ‘finished’ bathroom, which was made up of concrete, very humid and had large holes in the ventilation grilles, making it easy for jungle guests to walk in (in our case a massive spider, but hey, this is their territory). Little information was provided about sights, transport etc. We would have also loved to know that wildlife is often seen at the report so, unfortunately, we missed an orang utan with child visiting early morning which we were really bummed about. Maybe we missed it but we didn’t expect the pool to

Each chalet is nestled in the surrounding jungle to make you feel like it’s all yours to enjoy. We stayed in Kundasang which was a twin chalet. Basic but very clean and in keeping with the natural surrounds. The room consisted of 2 beds, bedsides, a suitcase shelf with handing frame and a small table for tea/coffee. High ceiling with ceiling fan and aircon, bathroom with shower and sink and an outdoor shower attached. It also had a lovely deck with table and chairs and felt like you were really in the jungle. It was more than adequate and very comfortable. All the windows had screens so it was lovely to leave the door or window open and enjoy the sounds. The plunge pool was lovely and had a nice seating area around it. Reception was a hut in the open and the restaurant

Comfy bed slept amazingly well. Room had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Staff friendly and food great with a good bottle of red with the biggest wine glasses. Ideal location for visits to the sanctuaries.

And excellent couple of nights prior to a tour down to the river… Had a really great stay, the staff are very friendly and super helpful. Loved the food options with something for all tastes (often difficult as a vegetarian but was spoiled for choice) and it’s great for wildlife! We were very fortunate to spot 2 wild gibbon in the grounds and made friends with the resident dog! It’s perfect for visiting the Orangutang sanctuary and about 30 mins walk to the Rainforest Discovery centre- they booked us on one of the night walks there which was well worth it. The rooms are pretty basic as expected but actually look better than in the pics online and effort has been made to be as eco as possible. We did use the plunge pool which is weirdly shallow but a nice relief from humidity!

Super helpful staff, decent food and nice rooms. Easily the best ground for wildlife of any of the accommodations at Sepilok. Five species of Spiderhunter, Orangutan, Bornean Gibbon visible from grounds.

Ideal location for Orang Utangs and Sun Bear rehabilitation centres. Warm welcome at reception, staff interested and engaged with our plans during stay.Fireflies at sunset boat trip with meal arranged by lodge. Accommodation clean and bed comfortable. Did use our torches for additional light at night. Restaurant staff attentive and evening meal really tasty. Breakfast offering rather different between days when bigger group staying, or just a handful of people. Bar staff a credit to the lodge.

The place is ok, it is out dated like most hotels in sepilok. The location is great the restaurant need to up its game a bit then the accommodation is passable but not luxurious. Yes it is the jungle but still it just needs a good bit of renovation and charging what they do per night it is not a big ask!! There is a new resort just opened and it is really nice and sport on with its bungalow rooms! Spend some money and update it relying on work from 20 years ago for 100+ gbp a night is a bit much.

Superb experience in the jungle. Kind and attentive team who made us welcome and keep in contact prior to our arrival. The place is tranquile and calm. Walking in the jungle expect a few insects and lizards to join you. A welcome cinnamon drink was appreciated. The food is authentic Malay, no burgers here! The stir fried fern in chili-lemongrass was delicious. The chocolate wontons were a bit of sweetness in a crispy shell. The 30min hike took us into the jungle to have a safe experience of the wildness. The ac is efficient and the bed linen high thread count. The outdoor bath with a bucket shower is fun, ask the lizard to vacate first! The team made it very welcoming and special.

This place should be prescribed. The location is beyond expectations and the staff epitomise what great customer service is like. Nothing is too much trouble and although I could pick out individuals easily, everyone I met was a joy, friendly and helpful. Our accommodation was the best for seeing orangutan from the balcony. The bed was comfortable and clean. I want to come back and I’m not leaving until tomorrow! We will hopefully be back at some stage.
