We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour of Sabah organised for us by Sticky Rice Travel. The main reason for staying was to visit the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, Rainforest Discovery Centre and Sunbear Centre, for which this hotel is very conveniently located (5-10 mins drive from all three). It was an easy 30 min taxi ride from Sandakan airport so worked well for our evening arrival. However, we also enjoyed the facilities whilst we were there! The twin room we had was comfortable with very effective AC, a nice little balcony with view of the forest, a small but well arranged bathroom (including a lovely, private outdoor shower option and an indoor heated shower). We had a set menu in the restaurant as part of our tour package - the food was plentiful and tasty,

We stayed here two nights whilst on tour. It's conveniently located within walking distance of the Orangutan Rehab Centre which I guess is why most of us are in the area. We had a deluxe chalet consisting of a bedroom, bathroom and balcony, even at 'deluxe' it was pretty simply furnished with a comfy bed, A/C, dressing table, bathroom had a worn whirlpool bath with shower over it and rustic sink arrangement. It was clean and fine for a couple of sleeps. There were connections for a tv but none there. Central dining area/bar in the middle of the resort with the chalets set around it, only place to get wifi. Food was pretty good in the evenings but breakfast really basic, although they will do you eggs. Staff friendly and helpful. It's a clean and simple operation clearly aimed at

The lodge is conveniently located next to the sun bear and orangutan rehabilitation centres and we spent two nights here at the beginning of our Borneo rainforest trip. Our accommodation was basic. There was an over bath outside shower which was dilapidated (see photo) the internal bathroom and lodge itself was tired, dated and very dusty; but a plus was the bedding was crisp and clean. Our lodge was the most remote from the reception and dining room; the walk to it was in part over unmade rocky paths with intermittent lighting (bring your own torch as none were provided) over slippery hilly paths. Our lodge had a kettle, AC, hairdryer and a bottle of water. We booked a standard chalet and on check out we were told we had been upgraded so who knows what a standard room

We picked this for the proximity to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries and we are so glad we did. The sanctuaries are a short walk so it was easy to go in the morning, come back for lunch, and then go back. The grounds were lovely and everything was so peaceful and relaxing it was great. The room was simple but with everything we needed, including a little balcony to sit on to watch the wildlife. I am a vegetarian and the food options were all delicious! Plus the beer was cold! We highly recommend it.

Stayed for one night before visiting orang-utan and sun bear centres which are practically next door. Good variety of food both western and Asian reasonably priced. Drinks available at reasonable prices. Rooms bit dated but clean and comfy. Private verandah overlooking the jungle indie de and outside showers and nice bathroom. Pool available for use which looked clean but didn’t have chance to use it. Bring mosquito repellent and wear long sleeves if you are prone to being bitten - although the restaurant and balcony area was cooled by fans and not many around.WiFi available but only in the restaurant area.

We stayed here for one night whilst exploring Borneo for honeymoon. We received a warm welcome and the staff were fantastic through out the visit. Jessica in particular was very helpful, professional and so welcoming. Our room was lovely and they’d decorated it with flowers- a nice touch. The meal we had at lunch at dinner was great! Malaysian food or more western food with a twist! Good choice of drinks too. The breakfast was a little disappointing compared to other places we stayed in Borneo . It would have been nicer if it was warmer (the noodles and hash browns were stone cold) and if there was more choice of food- maybe some pastries and more choice of fruit? Apart from that this is a little slice of paradise in the jungle. We would love to come back for longer. Loved

What an absolute serene and relaxing environment in the jungle. I could have stayed here a week or even more just appreciating the peace and quiet and the beautiful nature and animals. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the menu is a mix of Asian western. Our lodges had a great vibe to them and waking up sitting on your balcony early morning watching the wildlife doesn’t ever tire. Would definitely recommend!

We were only there one night, and arrived relatively late in the day (already dark). When we arrived, having specifically ordered a double and a twin, they had allocated our teenage kids a double bed, for some unknown reason. So it took a while to sort out and thankfully they had a twin available, otherwise it would not have been good. The place is a little dated, but just for a night to go to Sepilok, it was fine. The food in the restaurant was a little random, and breakfast was fairly average. At dinner we got our main courses before our starters! It's fine... but not sure I'd stay more than a night that's convenient for Sepilok Sanctuary.

We spent 6 glourious days here my daughter and myself. Staff were so friendly helpful and couldn’t do more for us. 10 out of 10 for the chef his meals were amazing. The outings that they arranged for us including the boat ride down the river was absolutely incredible. I’ll guide Eric what is one of the most informative, interesting and helpful guide I have yet to come across in my travels. The room was comfortable clean and very well maintained. All in all this was a fantastic holiday. We were looking for a holiday of a lifetime and that’s exactly what we got.
