We didn’t have very high expectations for this place but were pleasantly surprised. It’s a little tranquil sanctuary with lots of wildlife around, including orangs! The cabins are a little dated but very comfortable & spacious. And private considering. The staff were attentive & friendly and the food was excellent. We loved sitting in the hanging chair overlooking the lake with a cocktail after a day at the rehab centre. It’s a 5 minute walk from the resort so a perfect location. We went in the down season so I imagine this place gets busy in high season & may feel different. But we loved it! Very reasonably priced for the lovely experience and you really feel like you’re waking up in the jungle.
Stayed in room 17 which was the furthest from reception overlooking the lake. the room had windows on all sides with blinds and curtains. there was decking to sit on and a hammock. there was a wet room with a shower and toilet with a basin in the bedroom. The room was large with a wooden floor. Insecticide spray was provided. A glass of beer and a glass of wine were 26 Ringgits each. A bottle of Chilean red wine was 120 Ringgits. A 6% service/tax charge was added to meals in the restaurant. The hotel is used by tour groups as overnight accommodation and some groups stop for meals
We booked this Resort through Amazing Borneo. The Resort was very tranquil with friendly staff. Our room was airy & spacious with no noisy air con, we did have to unplug the bedside lights to charge phones. The resort is a fantastic location to visit the Orang-utan Centre & Sun bear's
We needed to overnight close to the hotel before heading to the interior of Borneo. This resort did the trick! A quick ride from the airport to this gorgeous property. You will be adjacent to the Oranutan Center. Many folks stay multiple nights here, we would have been happy to. Good food, great room, good bar and staff were wonderful.
Had a real jungle experience here with all home comforts. We stayed in room 11, it had a fantastic view over the lake. We went on the evening jungle walk which I was glad I did if not a little scary. The room was beautiful high ceilings fabulous bathroom. It was clean and had a very boutique feel, yes there was a small gap under the door but the air conditioning and fan worked so well nothing was coming in. The food was good and the cost of accommodation and food was good for where you are. I checked out one of the other resorts while I was here and it was yes cheaper but very run down in comparison. The on our first day an Orangutan payed us a visit and was very reluctant to leave, They had to get the rehabilitation guys down to move her out. I was a bit sorry that some of the guests really wanted to get so close, you have to remember these animals are wild and we want to keep them like that once they have been freed, but people almost wanted a selfie and didn’t follow the rules of removing food and keeping their distance. You could also Orangutans in the trees over the lake as you could see rhinoceros Hornbills, snakes and various other wildlife. The noise of the jungle is incredible. So glad we stayed - I could easily have stayed a week so laid back and just gorgeous in every way.…
