My 91 year old husband and I did the walking tour with Andres today. We heard that you might see monkeys on the walk. Wow, we saw a ton of monkeys with their babies! Andres was so knowledgeable and pointed out different birds and trees....More
We stayed 7 nights in an ocean view room, which was beautiful. The hotel's service from the front desk to the restaurant staff to housekeeping was awesome and so friendly. A smile at every corner. (The only service not completely up to par was the...More

Service is consistently excellent from EVERYONE !
The Costa Rican Hospitality of Pura Vida shows. A must do whether you are on business or for pleasure.
We stayed here for a few nights earlier this year and really enjoyed the hotel itself, however you must understand you are very isolated when staying here. You are about a 25-30 min drive to the nearest town of Tamarindo, which is definitely worth a...More
Staff is so friendly, resort is gorgeous, rooms are amazing. Get up early to grab the section of chairs at the pool facing the Pacific. Food was fine overall, but the steakhouse Sabanero was amazing! Take a day before you get too much sun to...More

Not sure about rainfall, but that wouldn't be a problem if their children's room was kept up. I have a 10 and 9 year old and we visited the room on our first full day. Ping Pong table isn't in good shape, plus it's outside, although under the eave. The room itself has very little to attract older children. The hockey game is not working very well. No air cushion. The Foosball table is o.k., but the handles don't move very well. In general, if I were still a kid, (but don't ask my wife about that) it would be a disappointing, meagre game room. The movies at night were o.k. Plenty of activities for adults and several children activities during the day. Not sure there would be enough activities to keep kids busy if they were forced inside by rain.
