We absolutely loved our stay at Essence Arenal and warmly recommand to stay in this part of Arenal ! The property is organised in two distinct part, one more like a hostel with very confortable rooms and tents, another one in the farm, 5 minutes within the property. We stayed in both part of Essence and enjoyed both of them!...

"Bad roads lead to good people." If you've driven in Costa Rica, then you know the joy of bouncing down unpaved roads without a care for the suspension BECAUSE IT'S A RENTAL CAR. Then as the potholes become more treacherous and multiply to the point where you lose sight of any actual *road* between them, you think (confidently) OK, THIS...

I was there with my friends and we have slept in the tent. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they use to serve different thematic dinners. The tents are in the park, where you can walk to see the coffe' plants or relax in the small jacuzzi, on an amazing laguna view. I do suggest.

This isn't to say that the rest of the country wasn't beautiful and the other places we stayed weren't remarkable in their own rite, but Essence Arenal was the most vibrant and memorable part of our tour. The views, food, accommodations, people, and food (I mention it twice because it was so effin good) had us planning our next trip...

We were a group of 4 and stayed here for 3 nights. The views of the Volcano in the morning were AMAZING. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Hido, he's the man! We had dinner here one night and breakfast every morning. Best Pico de Gallo we had tasted throughout our entire trip, we even asked the chef...

Great place to get off the beaten path and hike around the Arenal Volcano and lake. Enjoyed the stay in a comfortable tent and the vegetarian meals were all very good. Great massage as well! We weathered Hurricane Otto (just lots of rain).

A lovely little botique hostel close to the Arenal Lake and with a great view (weather permitting) of the Arenal volcano. With tent rooms/dorms as well as private rooms available there is something for everyone. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and the owner speaks German, English and Spanish fluently. You can enjoy a free one hour yoga session...

We flew into Libera arriving mid day and headed towards Arenal stopping along the way we arrived at Essence Arenal Hostel around 6:30pm and got a great room with a view of the lake. They called it a tent, but it was a very sturdy permanent structure with a private porch over looking the gorgeous lake and a comfy bed....

We spent three nights at Essence Arenal and our stay got beyond our expectations. The location, the outlay of the camp and finca were just great. We booked a deluxe room and found it well appointed with a comfy wet area for showering. Food was a unique experience every single day with Liliana in charge for the dinner menu. The...

We arrived when it was pouring rain. Went up the hill in the van with no shocks. It was an adventure. The hostel had no wifi, which was a feature we loved, but also found out was temporary. So, they do have wifi. We also thought they didn't have warm water, but they do. Basically, we thought we were getting...
